I know this belongs on the pets board but I am worried about my dog. When I got home from work one of my dogs seemed to be having trouble with his left eye. It seems very dark and its half closed. I dont see a scratch or anything when I look at it but its all blood shot inside. What do you think this can be? Can dogs get eye infections? Or pink eye? I am bringing him to the vet later but right now I feel sooooo bad for him

Even though you can't see a scratch, the only thing I can think of that was cause that is a scratch. Definately see what the vet says, and hopefully his eye will be better soon!

Dogs can get conjunctivitis -- it's pretty common. The symptoms are red eye and maybe some discharge. Conjunctivitis should be looked at by a vet, but can be treated at home with saline solution and similar medicines.
I hope the vet visit goes well!

I was thinking scratch definately...my other dog play fights with him a lot and maybe he has a scratch that I just cant see. Or maybe he even did it to himself...its so sad though...his eye is closed and is tearing so much...:(

My friend's pomeranian scratched his cornea while playing once. The vet gave him some ointment which cleared it up within a week.
