My precious angel...
Is already four months old today! I cannot believe how fast it is going! We just christened him yesterday, and it was a truly wonderful day!
He was a sweet angel in church - not one peep, while the other children screamed their poor little heads off.
We had a wonderful dinner at Fabio's in East Meadow. The food was out of this world! Everyone raved and raved about the taste and quantity.
It was a beautiful day, and we are so proud of our little angel.

Re: My precious angel...
CONGRATULATIONS on his Christening!!!! I'm glad everything went so well. Weren't you so proud that he didn't cry!!?
Our son actually smiled at the Priest when he poured the water and every other baby yelled and carried on. He ( like your baby ) was so good through the whole thing
I'm sure you were beaming with pride -as you should!!! Congratulations and Blessings to you and your family.. Much Happiness!!!

Re: My precious angel...
God Bless Him! You had a beautiful day for the Christening too. The sun was smiling upon him
How terrific that he was so good....it's always nice. I feel bad for them when they are asleep and then the holy water gets poured on them. I remember my niece was asleep and never even woke up with the water.
Can I ask - did you have a couple as godparents? Or did you pick the godmother and godfather separately? I know we want my SIL for godmother and her husband would be an ideal choice as godfather, they are a couple and they attend church. But....I think my brother will be insulted if I don't ask him b/c I am godmother to both his kids. But he doesn't attend church or practice the religion that I know of...so I am in the predicament of taking the sacrament seriously and asking the practicing Catholic to be godfather or fulfilling a social expectation and asking my brother. It seems like alot of times it doesn't matter if they are practicing Catholics (and no offense meant if your godparents aren't) but to satisfy expectations.
So I've been looking for opinions from new mothers or mothers-to-be.
Thanks and Congrats again.

Re: My precious angel...
Claud,Congrats on baptizing your son ! My nephew was also baptized yesterday. It was really a gorgeous day! Arent the little boy outfits SOO PRECIOUS ??
Elizabeth, about the Godparent thing, I know how you feel because my sister was in that sort of predicament. She has 3 kids and for 2 of them she picked non-couples,except for me and DH, we baptized her first (and we werent even engaged 3 years ago!) talk about making exceptions for your twin ! Anyhow, for her son, she did get some rude comments from her DH's family that she picked a best friend and our brother. She just isnt as close to his family, and she didnt see a reason to pick a GM on his side, just to be politcally correct. Picking our best friend was the best decision she made. She was surprised and THRILLED to be picked from the bottom of her heart, and anyone on his side, would have been a fake act of smiles (i'm sure we all have some of them in the family!)
I say choose whoever you feel will be there for your child, someone that you are close to, that will be there for all special occasions, make time for their Godchild, honor the role that they play, etc.
If you are close to your brother, and you baptized both of his kids, I would really consider choosing him. IT might not be worth the tension it will cause, and since youre Godmother to both of his kids, it doesnt sound like youd be picking him to be polically correct, i'm sure there's some love there.
My decision wont be so hard the first time around, since it will obviously be sis andher DH, the next babies, we'll see. I dread those decisions ! LOL.
Good luck andlet us know what you decide

Re: My precious angel...
THANK YOU ladies, very much for the good wishes. We are so happy with the way everything turned out yesterday.Elizabeth - don't be silly. I understand your godparent predicament. I was torn for awhile about what to do for my son. I don't have any sisters, and neither of my brothers is married, so I did not have the 'option' to ask a couple. I ended up choosing my older brother and my cousin. I am so pleased with my decision, b/c yesterday, I got to see how much it meant to both of them.
Go with your heart, and everything will work out fine. Best wishes to you.

The baby was born almost a full year AFTER the wedding. LOL
When I created my profile, it was 2002, so the system wouldn't allow me to choose a date in the past.Welcome New Vendors
