My Priest just called me...(the one marrying me)

Have to see him on Saturday for the famous lets chat, and schedule Pre Cana classes

what should I expect?

Mine went well. FH and I told him a bit about ourselves, how we met, our families, etc. Then we did a private Q & A with him where he asked if we had ever been married or a priest (odd questions!) then he gave us church and precana info. Ours went well and was quite pleasant. Good luck!

When we met with our priest is wasn't too nerve racking. He wanted to know a little about us -confirm that we made the sacraments. He asked us general questions and then got more specific with the what is marriage type stuff. He was very good - didn't even bat an eye when we told him we lived together already. He gave us a book with readings to select (when we are ready) and told us about donations, rules, etc.

Mine was similiar to the other posts. Ask you how FH and you met, why you wanted to marry each other, if you plan on having childen etc.. Then they do that private question answer thing, like is their any reason you can't have children ( apparently they are really inot making babies), have you ever been married before, have you even seen a psycologist ect... Not too bad.

Our priest knew we lived together but... on the paper work wrote down me living at mom's address. Don't worry too much most of today's priets understand real life.

I was nervous about that too. I almost didn't want to say but FH refused to omit that. He figured the church should accept us the way we are - like we do them. In the end the priest was fine with it...I mean the church doesn't agree with it but our priest didn't mind. When it came time to give our addresses I gave mine and FH said 'same' - the priest just said - ok - don't have to write it again then. That was it.

Ahhhh! I know it's horrible but we lied to him- he was so nasty and didn't want to marry us because we don't go to church every Sunday! Our priest didn't ask out right- but did ask us our addresses. I used my parents. Oh well, he's been pretty mean to us so we're looking in to using a different church for our ceremony.

o wow....more worries now..i dont go to church on sundays either..
