If anyone checks my profile, I deleted some info and put the wrong wedding date there. FH said we got some calls from vendors who said 'we know your wedding is XXXX , and we want to let you know we are not booked for that date, can we help you with our services?' He asked me how they would have known this and the only thing I could think of was here, so he asked me to take it off since he got a bit weird about strangers knowing when we are getting married. I told him 'well when the wedding banns come out in the Church's bulletin in March, it will announce the wedding' but I can see what he means. So please don't think I'm a fake bride!!

Re: My profile
Maribelle...no problem...I won't think you're a fake bride!!! That's unfortunate that you're having this problem, but you are the only one I've heard complaining of such a thing from this site.
I do know that fake brides do post on here...but not that they've ever gone so far as to call you at home.

Re: My profile
The reason I think the vendors got my number from LIW was because I probably put my phone number down when I entered the contest for the US Savings bond. Look at the privacy statement. (which I fully understood when I entered). Just that most of the time the vendors called when we werne't home or they e-mailed me. I hardly got any calls/emails until I entered the contest. I normally scan my calls. If I pick up, if they ask for me by my full name I know they are a vendor and I pretend I am not me and take a message FH got a few calls and he thought that the bridal center we booked for some stuff gave it out, until one vendor said that she got our number from LIW. He asked me why I would put it on there and so I explained. Then he said 'is there any other information on the site?' and I said in my profile and he asked me to take it down because (and he's right) anyone can look at it even if they are not registered on the site (I think??) and anyone can register and troll..even though it's not too hard to find out when people are getting married (ie: online registries) he didn't like the idea of me having a profile on here so he asked me to change it. I said no problem, I can understand his reasoning.

Re: My profile
Me too. And I always know when it's a vendor calling because they hesitate before saying it..like..'is this really how it's pronounced?' And I say 'who's calling' and they said 'Such and Such DJ's' and I say 'she's not in right now but I believe she booked that already'.
Of course we don't have everything booked so I don't do that to all the vendors. Some I do talk to

i still have vendors calling me even though we booked most already - in fact, twice, i got calls from places we had already visited asking us to 'come in'
