My shower

My two aunts are supposed to be planning my shower. My wedding is in Sept. I also have a cousin whose getting married in June her mother just called my mom and asked what date my shower will be on so it won't conflict w/ my cousins her daughter. So anyway my mother called me now and asked me 'When will your shower be? What month' I'm like, ' I don't know mom, isn't your two sisters supposed to be planning it.' I think my family has forgotton about planning my shower. I don't see why it hasn't been talked about yet. Sometimes i feel my family really isn't interested in this wedding planning. Normally how far in advance should showers be planned???

Re: My shower

No need to worry....... Usually a shower is 2-3 months before the wedding. If your cousin's wedding is in June her shower should be around March or April and your should should be aroun June or July....

I have been to some showers where it was over 6 months away and that was just to throw the bride off..

I am sure your aunts are planning it, it is just a little too early...

relax and enjoy the moment..

Re: My shower

Isn't that a horrible feeling. I posted about that. I don't think my family or friends are going to bother! I wouldn't worry though because your mom obviously called because your family is thinking about it, that's probably why she wanted to know what month you were thinking of having it in. It could be a code ya know
Besides if no one does it we can through them for each other

Re: My shower

Hi!!
I wouldn't worry. I actually helped plan mine with my family and we didn't start doing things for it until 2 or 3 months before. September is still kind of early to plan...

The only things you have to try and plan in advance is the place. You should book the place a few months before and if you order anything..like favors, etc..

Good luck with everything...

Re: My shower

I wouldn't worry to much at all. The shower doesn't need to be planned until the spring.

Re: My shower

I know how you fee. No one is excited about my wedding. My sister never has time for me and no one wants to help me plan or anything. I didn't get an e-party and no one even took me out to lunch to celebrate. I guess i was expecting a little something like that. But do not let them get you down! Just think that your FH is your best friend and thats all the matters

Re: My shower

You still have plenty of time left before your wedding. TRY not to worry -- and if you feel they are 'forgetting', drop some heavy hints!!

Re: My shower

Don't worry - they're probably doing that to throw you off.

That's what they did to me. My mom, aunt and sisters started talking about planning the shower in front of me, and I was like shouldn't I leave the room. And then my aunt says maybe we could do chicks, eggs or something - to do a theme in April (Easter time). So then I got it in my head that it was going to be in April with those hints and a month before the wedding --- it sounded good to me. But it wasn't - it was in January!
