My shower

My two aunts are supposed to be planning my shower. My wedding is in Sept. I also have a cousin whose getting married in June her mother just called my mom and asked what date my shower will be on so it won't conflict w/ my cousins her daughter. So anyway my mother called me now and asked me 'When will your shower be? What month' I'm like, ' I don't know mom, isn't your two sisters supposed to be planning it.' I think my family has forgotton about planning my shower. I don't see why it hasn't been talked about yet. Sometimes i feel my family really isn't interested in this wedding planning. Normally how far in advance should showers be planned???

Re: My shower

It depends but if I was in your situation and I was planning yours (considering you also now have another wedding in the family) I would have dropped everything and set a date so you get first priority because you set your date first and get a place.

Just make sure they are spaced far apart because I am assuming you will have a lot of the same women as guests.

Don't stress too much on this, it will come together.

It could be worse you could be the last one of your friends and family (last wedding over 12 years ago) to get married. They all have young kids so no $$$$ and no time to help you and many live OOT.

Re: My shower

Do you think that maybe they're all just messing with you to throw you off their track?

Re: My shower

Your shower is far off, don't worry. Usually the showers are held a month or two before the wedding, so look at around July/August.....just like me, lol. No one in my family is planning anything for the shower yet, they have time. Don't be upset, it will happen :)

Your wedding's almost a year away, I wouldn't really worry about not having a date picked out. If anything, it'll be after your cousin's June wedding anyway so that won't be an issue. I wouldn't stress - there are plenty of other things for you to worry about than the fact that there's no shower date 10 mos in advance.

Re: My shower

I'm sure it'll all work out. Families can be so stressful but I am sure everyone will do the right thing for you when the time comes.
