My Shower Was Sunday (Pictures included)
Well, they got me! Exactly 2-months before my wedding and they surprised me with the most beautiful shower.
FH & I were invited to a Fundraiser at Roma View in Howard Beach. When I walked in I was so shocked that I walked back out of the room becuase I was shaking.![]()
Now, I knew I'd be getting one but I really thought this was a fundraiser. My brother is a graphic artist and made real invitations and donation cards for the fundraiser and included a picture of the 'doctor' that would be speaking at the event ... it was unreal!
It was a brunch buffet with all sorts of breakfast foods - quiche, bagels, lox, croissants, cereal, potatos, bacon and even a chef making fresh omelets, and they had lunch items too - Turkey, Roast Beef, Eggplant Rollantini, Chicken Oreganato, Pasta Primavera, etc. Too bad I was so busy socializing and my nerves being crazed that I ate one pancake and that was it.
I got so many nice things - my registry is almost clear - just a few select items I need to finish off but for the most part, I can have a home with what I have now. I got some really nice items that weren't on my registry like monogrammed towels, days of the week dish cloths, a glass block with my invitation etched into the glass, a leopard print scrap book for the honeymoon and sooo much lingerie and underwear I don't think there are enough days of the year to wear them all!
My mother and future-mother-in-law did an AWESOME job. The centerpieces were burgendy mums. The favors were soap wrapped in wash cloths and little cranberry candles too.
The only game we played was 'How well do you know your fiancee?' For each gift I opened, the person who gave me the gift stoof up and asked a question about FH. If I got it right they won a prize! I did pretty well if I must say so myself. The prizes were writing pads with different safari animals on it -it was perfect!
