MY SHOWER WAS YESTERDAY
Well I knew the date, but boy they got me good on everything else. They held it at Wall's Wharf in Bayville. The weather was perfect, the food was phenomenal and most of all the people were amazing. I was stunned they put in so much effort.
HOW THEY GOT ME
I had thought it was going to be at my grandma's pool house, but that morning just before we were leaving DF had his 'mom' call his phone and say her car could not start and we needed to go and pick her up at Wall's. (I later learned DF had his brother call). Well, I know that Bayville is completely out of our way so I called my mom and had DF say can you go pick her up b/c it is like 2 minutes from my parents house. Here, I think I am running the surprise part - well my mom goes 'I can't pick up DF'S MOM b/c my brother has my mom's car and dad is out with his.' So I am like fine - lets go. Meanwhile we are in Forest Hills - so it is a shelp and a half.
DF insisted on driving and is going slowly, like a bad Floridian driver (no offense), so I am getting antsy and upset telling him he should drive faster. He was driving slowly intentionally b/c he did not want us to be early and so I would not think about the party. He was so right, I didn't. (But half way to the party I apparently said wouldn't this be funny if it was a ruse, I don't recall saying that).
Well, we get to wall's and I get out of the car to look for his mom. I see her car but not her...so I go inside and peek into the main restaurant and I see everyone. Funny enough, they did not see me immediately to yell surprise - I had to say hi.
We had a great time. Got amazing gifts. I cannot believe how generous my friends and family are. I feel so blessed.
