MY SHOWER WAS YESTERDAY!! (pics) rants and raves . . .(now with shutterfly link at bottom of original post)
So my suspisions held to be true- my shower was yesterday . . . I was still so surprised when I walked in, since I was not 100% certain . . .I had an amazing time. It was at Lomanaco's in Centereach. My parents and Brian did an amazing job setting up the room. The food was amazing, however, I will only eat their food in the future by take-out.
We would not recommend Lomanaco's to anyone for a party. It is unfortunate that my review of their service has to be so negative, because the servers were really the sweetest women. The HEAD server/manager (HSM) was the meanest, nastiest woman. There was a mistake on the count, so 5 people had no where to sit. Brian's aunt was one of them. She said to the HSM 'we have no where to sit, can you set up a table for us?' She was putting out the appetizers, but had to nastily yell 'I will seat YOU when I am done serving the food.' They got into a tiff, and my mom, who was very nervous to begin with, got very upset and embarrassed. My DAD ended up setting up the table with the help of the other SWEET girls that were working the party.
Then the food came out. Apparently my parents were promised that the kids would get chicken fingers and pasta when the food came out. The coordinator (who I heard was so sweet throughout planning my shower and also turns out to be the HSM's daughter) wrote it on their contract, but not on their own copy and told my parents that it was standard for kids and not to worry, that they would know to do that automatically. I thought the kids were getting chicken fingers and fries. So I went over to the HSM and nicely said 'we were told that the kids were supposed to get chicken fingers and fries when the food came out. HSM barked at me 'We don't have fries and it I am going to have to talk to the chef because it doesn't say that anywhere.' She could have nicely said 'We serve pasta with the fingers, not fries.' But no . . . so she goes in the back and puts the order in (3 of the 4 kids don't eat sauce, so they were going to have butter on their pasta- keep this in mind.)
So the pasta comes out and the HSM barks 'who gets sauce and who doesn't?' My FH nicely says to her 'I know who gets what, so I will just give it to them.' HSM barks 'You don't have to serve it . . . whatever.' and walks out of the room. When the chicken fingers were ready she just plopped the tray down and walked out of the room and was gone for the rest of the party. I ended up bringing the chicken fingers over to the kids.
This woman was so nasty to us that we were so upset. The other girls really went out of their way to make up for that nasty woman's behavior. The repeatedly apologized. It is unfortunate that we would never recommend LoManaco's for a party to anyone because of the woman in charge of serving the parties. She was also the highest one in charge that day- nobody else of her level or higher were present. My father will be calling today to complain, since gratuities were due before the party and really feels that they need to know how this woman treated us. The food is some of the best italian food I have had, so definitely eat there, just beware of having a party there.
