I had my sister do up my signature drink menu yesterday, and I'm so happy with the way it came out! I'll take a pic of it in the frame when I do all my DIYs, but here is the jpeg of it:
But it can never be easy LOL. I showed FH it, all happy, and he says, and I quote:
' I don't like it, the next line is 'For tomorrow we die.'
I was like um, what??? And he goes on to explain that the real phrase, 'Eat, drink, and be merry' is followed by 'for tomorrow we die.' So he doesn't want it on our menu I tried to explain that it's basically the same as life's short, eat dessert first, but he's being all annoying about it. Ooops...the cocktail napkins say it too. He didn't even look at the drinks, he just got all hung up on the phrase. We are two of a flipping kind, that's for sure.
Would you change the title to 'Signature Drink Menu' or something else boring to appease Mr. Morbid, or leave it as is and assume that no other people looking at it are going to be freaks and say that?

leave it as is! It is adorable! I have the same napkins and anyone I have showed them to said they were adorable! I really dont think people will read into it that much! They are only napkins and a menu..

I hate to be contrary (and you know I love you, Ali) but I'd change it... I agree with your FH about the line, and it always bothered me when I saw it places when it came to wedding-related stuff.
What about doing a play on the word 'spirits' -- like 'high wedding spirits' or 'holy wedding spirits' or something... or 'In the Spirit of marriage...' or 'Mr & Mrs' Spirits of the day'
Or choose a line from your favorite song that talks about drinking or a quote about drinks to put at the top.

No, I know...it's starting to bother me too now that he brought it up, and I can't do anything about the napkins at this point they're already ordered, but I can just have my sister print out another one, even though she'll flip over the ink.
I found a poem by Ogden Nash online about martinis, and one line is 'There is something about a Martini, Ere the dining and dancing begin..'
It's certainly not as cutesy and to the point, but it's also kind of pretentious, which works for us too LOL. What does everyone think of that?

I personally like the eat, drink, be married, and esp since its on the napkins...i think most ppl won't even know what it's from and certainly won't know the next line... jmo

IMO - I think you dont need to have the parentheses around whats included in the drink.

If its on your cocktail napkins already, I would just leave it. Your not going to order more napkins so it might as well match.

I knew the next line but I didn't even think about it... I like it! And it doesn't mean 'tomorrow' in the literal sense, just like you said that life is short lol
I like it, in fact I might steal that line for my drink sign hehe
