My sil had a baby

Boy 8 pounds 10 ouncesc 21 inches. His first name is Zander. She had a grade 4 tear and is in so much pain the baby is healthy but in the Nicu for monitoring b/c of a fever they should let him out today I helped her bf yesterday. He is so beautiful

Don't want to freak anyone else out, but what's a grade 4 tear (I can only imagine), and what are the different grades? I had a c-section myself, and am beginning to be REALLY happy I did. But, what exactly is a grade 4 tear?
