My SIL and I have a voltitile realtionship, with at times, is very good though. I asked her to be in my BP, since I felt as my DH's sister she should be included. She said yes, and then 3 months before the wedding, decided that she would rather not be in the BP. So we told her that it would be okay if she didn't want her to be in it, blah blah blah. We were annoyed, but we didn't want the drama. So now since we got married, she is like my best friend. SUpposedly she will be getting engaged in December, and she called me today, to tell me about their wedding plans, and that she wanted me in th BP and that her FH will be asking Vin to be in the BP.
Uh Hello, you backed out of ours????

Re: My SIL has alot of nerve!!!
Well .. the ball's in your court now .. so if you really don't want to be bothered .. or are still that upset with her .. don't do it.
But sometimes you just have to put the past behind you and move on. Life's too short. If things are going better .. maybe it's worth it to try to make it work, instead of putting fuel back on the fire.

Re: My SIL has alot of nerve!!!
She has been too nice to me, since we got married, and I am waiting for the other shoe to drop, because it always does. I will me BM if that is what DH wants, so as to not start any problems, but I just think it is so funny.

I say just be the better person and do it. At least you will be with your DH the entire day, you'll have a good time.

Re: My SIL has alot of nerve!!!
Shelzyp - I can realate to your situation...I too have a SIL that is a bit 'volatile'
She declined to be in my BP because she doesn't get along with our other SIL...the best is..she is unsure as to whether or not her kids can participate in our wedding...'I have to think about'
She is really out there...one day she will be overly nice and call all the time but then other times she is the complete opposite. I am always kind and respectful to her for the simple sake that she is my brother's wife and mother of my niece and nephew. o be honest, I can really care less if she is in the BP or not..just feel bad about the kids

Re: My SIL has alot of nerve!!!
Even thought it may be hard, I would just go along with it and be part of the wedding. My inlaws were a nightmare to deal with during my planning, but have done a complete turnaround since we have been married. Although I will never forget, I am happy that we all are getting along well now and they are being kind to me.

Re: My SIL has alot of nerve!!!
This could be your oportunity to give it right back to her (JMO) but like the other ladies said it would be more logical to be a Bm

Re: My SIL has alot of nerve!!!
The whole problem is, she is crazy and would flip if we said no, and then try to start up things again. I am also sure that my MIL would be annoyed as us for not being the bigger person. I am so sick of being the bigger person, because I always get kicked in the face, and the fact is we will have to lay out more money then a regualr guest would for her wedding, and we have a lot on our plate.

Re: My SIL has alot of nerve!!!
Honestly, I would bite the bullet and do it.
Look at it this way. She is your family now and to keep peace with your hubby and the rest of the family you may have to do just s**uck it up and do it.
michelle...maybe this is her way of making up...I know she doesn't really express herself well...
maybe she realized that she missed out on something...especially sinc eyour wedding was so beautiful!!
but I can totally sympathize as I am having SIL problems right now...but for the good of the family you just have to deal...

Re: My SIL has alot of nerve!!!
Thanks, she is asking me to help, and I will jsut suck it up, and do it for my DH. I would like to be close to her, since we will be living next door, but I ahve tried so many times, that I am scared of a war happening again. DH is upset that she asked us too, but we will be in it, just to keep the peace. As long as he sees who his sister really is, I am fine with it. I was sick of feeling like everyone thought I was the evil one.

Re: My SIL has alot of nerve!!!
You should act really surprised (in a nice way) - 'What a nice surprise to be involved in yours since you dropped out of ours' Something like that... I must be PMSing because lately I'm all about getting those little digs in....
But for the good of family just grin and bear it.

Re: My SIL has alot of nerve!!!
I agree with you, as long as your DH sees her true colors and the both of you are in it together it will make it easier to suck it up.
Plus your married to the family now and you don't want it to be brought up in your face years to come as the mean one who wouldn't be apart of your SIL's wedding.
