my slipper basket

my slipper basket

Got the slippers today.

I went against everything I said previously. I posted saying I wanted only black Mary Jane style. I got an assortment of colors and I got the regular chinese slipper style. They look so gorgeous and sparkly that I could not resist the colors.

They came in little plastic bags. If I put them out with the bags still on them, will that create a lot of garbage all over the place? The bathroom will be attended but I do not want to look messy. The nice part is that the bags have size labels. Also, I am not sure whether I want the slipper basket in the bathroom or someplace else (near the band, maybe???).

So excited about the slipper basket. A great idea from LIW!!!

I put mine in organza wine bags and attached tags with the sizes.

Take the bags off, and Have the DJ/Band put them out ONCE people start dancing.

This way, everyeone who is going to USE them an dneeds them will get them... rather than people just taking 'extra' to take them.

Where did you get them?

Where did you get the slippers and how much were they?

Re: my slipper basket

A store in east Northport on Larkfield Road. The sign just says Home, Party, Gifts. I guess that is the store name. They were marked 2.99 each but I paid 2.59. I was not in the mood to bargain more but I do think I could have gotten it lowered. I may buy more, in which case I may bargain more. They had just gotten them in so I do not know whether there are a lot left now.

So, for those of you who used any kind of wrapping on them--labels or bags, does it create a lot of garbage??

Great advice - mine were gone in 10 minutes flat, and i think some little old ladies took a few home to their grandchildren.

Also, should I put a pair aside for each bridesmaid or just tell them to check the basket for their size?

FH thinks I should keep them in the little baggies because the baggies have size stickers on them. He thinks that that bag makes it clear that they are new. I have time to decide before November but you know how us brides get!!!!

I wouldn't wrap them. You want people to be able to put them on and come out and dance! Plus people may think they look too pretty to open up..you know??

Actually this is what happened with my invites. They were wrapped in vellum and a lot of people told my mom that the invite was so pretty that they did not want to take off the vellum wrapping. So they were peaking inside of it or unwrapping it and rewrapping.

Re: my slipper basket

can you keep the clear wrapping on it and just tie a bow around it? Are just jazz up the basket.

Re: my slipper basket

All these decisions!!! For now I will leave the slipper in the plastic and work on finding a basket!!!

My florist is getting me baskets for the toiletry items and I was wondering if I should use one of her for the slippers---like maybe then it will match the toiletry basket.
