I hope you're right S.

My jeweler called today to tell me that my w-ring will be a few hundres more than he thought.

that's how everything has been going. everything is just a few hundred more. it adds up!

I think the only thing that came in UNDER what we budgeted for was the DJ.

Ok...you have time to make 'arrangements' just in case you need extra cash because...we budgeted for everything and at the end came out $10K - so thankfully we had it, but it was hard scrounging at the last minute. Don't worry - be prepared and you'll be fine.

I'll share with you what I did and hope it helps...

Pay off vendors as soon as you can...your hall, photo, video, etc. Once you have the money for them, take it out and put it in an envelope (I had to or I would have spent it). By the time May rolled around we only had to pay our hall and even that was less than (way less) half. You don't feel as bad if the money's 'gone' and in an envelope labeled for a vendor payment.

Budget for the little things...
1) Tips
2) Trials
3) BP Gifts
4) Parent Gifts
5) HM spending

That way there are no surprises at the end.

I know you have it under control and just need a place to vent...vent away me dear, we hear ya and understand!

ETA: It is worth it, even my DH says it and he's a guy!

I have everything itemized in an Excel spreadsheet. I'm so anal.

I did include all of the items you mentioned above, minus the parent gifts, since we're paying for this on our own.

my funniest 'estimate' was my dress and accessories. I can't believe how foolish I was to think that I would only spend $500 total on everything I am wearing on the big day! what was I thinking??! my dress alone cost way more than that! I had heard how you can buy a dress from David's for $300 and then figured I would spend another $200 on everything else. I didn't even go to David's to look.
