MY SON IS READING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MY SON IS READING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my son has a learning disability that affects this 'language' (reading.writing, speech). it's always been WORK to get the young man to read, and i know the importance of language and reading to get anywhere in the world.

today, i had to go to barnes and nobles with him. as we were walking around, we stumbled across this area that has paperback books in series that are similar to all those video games he loves. they are pretty much comic books. his eyes almost popped out of his head.

long story short, i bought him one and when i put him to bed....

HE BEGGED TO BE ALLOWED TO READ IN BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yes, you read that right!! my son asked to be allowed to read his book!!!

i know this isn't the same kind of christmas miracle as waterspout4's news, but it still is a miracle.

i am presently, the happiest mommy in the world.

Awww, that is such a good thing to hear! I guess we know what Santa's going to be bringing him more of! lol

congrats! i work with kids with similar disabilities and it's a great feeling when they take that step. it's great that he WANTS to read too. congrats again! =0)

Awww thats awesome!! Gabe just started reading and writing and its kindof funny but I am over the moon about it!! The other day he read pure premium not from concentrate Tropicana!!! I was like and

We should still try to get together.

BTW Gabe wrote today he wants a BTED Modesicle from Santa!

It took me a while to figure it out, but its a pretend motorcycle!!
