My suprise honeymoon shower was Saturday
Saturday night was our shower…. my Mom and Dad threw us a honeymoon themed couple shower at their house. Both FH and I were so surprised…. my cousin (MOH) told FH she was throwing me a little surprise B-day party (my birthday was on the 23rd) at her mother’s…so he tells me she called and she wants us to go see the construction work her DH did in her parent’s basement. As we are leaving my Mom calls saying she had the FG dresses there and she wanted us to stop by and see them before I went anywhere…so we went to my mom's first....
My dad opened the door and there were so many people there…I was amazed. I didn’t even realize it was my shower and neither did FH. I thought, why are they throwing me this huge B-day party until I saw some of FH’s friends and all these palm tree and fish decorations and then I finally realized it was our shower. FH didn’t get it at first either, he was like why did they change the place of her B-day party without telling me…then he saw his friends and it all clicked. I still can’t believe they all did such a great job keeping it from us…they totally fooled us.
They did such a great job decorating too, everything looked so pretty My MOH set up a little “honeymoon dais” for us it was so cute. She made me a veil and had a cummerbund and bow tie for FH. She also made a Styrofoam wedding cake and decorated it with homemade chocolate lollipops, lace and ribbon. And she ordered us cocktail napkins and mint boxes with a little palm trees and our names on it. And she even made the pretty lingerie hanger with the ribbons hanging from it that guests can sign. My aunt made a board with our picture and the invitation on it that everyone signed too.
My mom put Hearts of Gold lottery tickets in plastic envelopes with a penny as part of the favors…they were hit…as soon as they were given out everyone started scratching away, a couple of people even won a few $$.
