I have a purple rose on my shoulder blade, I got it when I was 18 - it was and still is my favorite flower. I also have a yin-yang on my hip - which I also love.

My first is a tiny heart a little below my hip. This I just wanted somehting small, so went with that.
My second is a butterfly on my lower back. I got this when I began grad school and wanted to change my life. I thought of a butterly as a new beginning, a freedom

sunflower on my hip because its my favorite flower.
tribal butterfly on ankle because it has special meaning in our family. Meaning 'eternal life'.

I have a tribal butterfly with tribal on either side of it for the same reasons....freedom, new beginning....I got it with a boyfriend that had an awesome back piece and I was rebelling after a bad long term relationship

Mine is a dragon with black tribal around it. I love dragons. It’s greenish teal (mix of colors done nicely) with a orange and red flame. The black was done later.. (9/11 related)
I want to add more to it.. roses or something.. to soften it up a bit. Seems a big ‘dark’ these days.
My blue butterfly on my shoulder is very symbolic. I was in a 4 year relationship with a guy who was slightly abusive and after I got the strength to leave him for good, I got this tattoo of a butterfly... 'Free as a Butterfly' and I felt that it would also prevent me from ever going back to him.

I have a penguin on my left ankle. I love penguins and I got the picture from a graduation card my parents gave me.

I have a butterfly. It doesn't mean anything I just like it. I also have a tribal looking flower on my ankle. My mom, sister and I all went and got tatoos on our ankles together... we all got flowers but not matching ones.
My next tatoo is going to be a toe ring

To answer your question, I have a dolphin outline with a beach sunset inside. I am in love with the water. Anything to do with it. And I love dolphin's. Am definitely swimming with them when I can get to a place that does it. Jet skied with them a couple of times It is on my hip, I just wanted it for me and didn't need to have people see it, unless I want to show it.
Now, to ask you a question...Who is your tattoo guy. Joe Capobianco did mine years ago and then moved up to New Hampshire to do it. I adore his work. I so want to have him do another, but don't know how to find out if and when he comes back to LI.
