My teeth suck!

I am in the middle of a root canal for about 3-4 months now I'm bordering on possible extraction. This morning I went to have a cold drink of water and now my OTHER tooth is has a shooting pain! I can't win!

When you have a hot drink... lol

Tap on the tooth lightly with the back of ur tooth brush....if u feel the pain it's def something that needs to be looked at asap. I have really horrble teeth too...it's genetic. I take care of them but they are so bad...and yet my sister has had like 1 cavity her whole life.

Hi hon!! Sorry about your toothache. I'm a registered dental hygienist. Usually hot pain means the infection is in the root of the tooth which usually means root canal. Cold usually means a little gum recession which is common. usually a little bonded filling or switching to a sensitive toothpaste takes care of that. Sometimes cold can be a cavity but that's usually more for sweet pain. Symptoms can differ from person to person but this is a general idea of symptoms.
The tooth that you had root canaled. Did they say if it was cracked? Just curious.
Imo~ If your dentist is not available and you are having pain i would go somewhere else to address the problem if it is really bothering you!! Just don't tell my boss i said that!!! Your dentist should have another office covering for him if he's on vacation.

OMG thank you so much LOL! The root canal tooth had a crack in it after I kept persisting that it hurt.(he did a filling before a root canal because nothing showed in the xrays) I still have pain and should not have pain so he thinks it's a hairline fracture and that's what it was that lead to the root canal. I can't even have a drink or eat without cringing on that side...it's hard to even eat on the other side because if I chew and it hits it the wrong way I get a shooting pain. And I'm having the same pain with this tooth as the one that is in root canal process...

I'm not a dentist but i know usually teeth with hairline fractures really have a bad prognosis. As far as any other teeth bothering you. I've found that pain refers to the tooth next to it or around it. That's very common. Cracks never show up in an xray they are so small. It's symptoms occur when you bite on it in just the right way.
