My thoughts about LIW and why it makes me happy.

I just wanted to say how much I appreciate the advice and thoughts I've gotten the past few days regarding a post that I put up.
Last night, I told FH that i feel like I have a group of friends that is going through the exact same things as I am.
Happiness about being engaged and planning a wedding.
Nervous about reactions and sometimes disappointments.
I'm the last of my friends to get married. Many of them have families and children etc and view my wedding as a 'chore' and not an honor... Which saddens me however,
It's really nice to know that there are other ladies just as excited as I am and can share in the smallest excitements! (ie finding the perfect invite etc!)

Anyway, enough of my rambles. Just wanted to give a shout out to all you girls!! Thanks for everything....

I agree, we are a great group of girls going through many of the same feelings. I know I can come with anything and get an honest opinion.

Agreed! I think a lot of us are in the same boat as far as friends/family already being married with families and not having as much time for us as we would have hoped. That's why LIW is so great! You can always come on here to talk about anything and everything wedding related and never worry that people are tired of hearing about it! We will never be!!!

I love that I can ask 'silly' little questions about things and not get snide remarks or answers.

I like that we can vent about things that non-wedding planning people or just-marrieds would be snotty about.

I like that we can ask for NWR help too.

You hit the nail on the head!!! Right now our wedding, for most of us, is the most important thing in the world... we are wrapped up in the planning, invites, vendors, etc... NO ONE else can understand that except a bride-to-be... Not past brides, not friends, not parents....

It's amazing that we can come here and post the most random things and everyone gets excited for you. most of you were more excited about my invites than som of my real life friends, lol

I definitely feel the same way. I am the first of my friends to get married as well so sometimes talking to them about it is well annoying to them I think. I mean my bridal party is amazing. They actually got the ball rolling and took me to look for my wedding dress and their dresses. They really are great but they dont understand everything. Which is okay because I have this wonderful website and all the great girls on here.

Plus since FH isnt around and very busy in his own things it is hard at times to talk to him about invites, RD, favors etc. So I get to ask all of you girls about things instead. And this website and many of the wonderful girls on here help me keep my mind off of FH being away and deploying and help amke the time go by!! You are all wonderful people in my eyes. And I am thankful everyday for some of the great friends I found on this site!!!

My situation exactly. I'm 30....I've been in 5 of my friends weddings already but now that it's (was just) my turn.....it was just different. Everyone's got little babies now and we're just not kids anymore....no one is excited about weddings anymore (my group of friends anyway) because they've now been to about 100 in the past 5 years and they're basically over it...it's more of an annoyance, they have to find a sitter, etc. So to ask them about things we talk about on here...even my MOH, she's my best friend in the world and I love her, but she's got a 14 month old and she's 6 months pregnant....my other BM was pregnant, my other 2 both have 2 babies each.....my wedding (though I know they were happy for me and did the BEST job they could considering) was the furthest thing from their minds most of the time and just not their priority. It's nice to share excitement and frustration about the little things with girls than can commiserate and empathize and who even though they don't know me personally, they care about what I'm goign through cause they're going through the same thing.

Well said!!! I'm 31 and I may have at least 3 of my BM preggars by the time my wedding rolls around and I totally know what you went through!!

awww its so nice to read warm fuzzy posts like this! I feel the same way, its so nice to have women that you can share your wedding with and that get excited about things for you! My friends pretty much dont get it & I know if I didnt have this website, I'd babble about my wedding all day long & drive them nuts! lol

ahh thank you!! but it is true...everyone here helps so much. and it definitely is great to have people who allow you tp ask for advice and input
