Your toddler has probably never met a staircase she didn't like. By now she may be able to climb up a set of stairs, turn around at the top and sit, then scoot her way back down again. Some more cautious toddlers may like climbing up the stairs but will call for help to get back down. Sign your child up for a toddler gymnastics class at the local Y or community center where she can climb and tumble over soft play structures without getting hurt. Or make your own play area at home by stacking sofa pillows on top of a mattress or futon on the floor to make a pint-sized climbing course.
In line with this...Paul's newest pasttime - the other day, he slid himself up onto the end table in the den, raised BOTH hands over his head with a HUGE grin ->, and promptly FLUNG himself down onto the sofa. THANK GOD I was right there to catch him!
ps - we have now removed the tables from den. Soon, we'll have to part with the sofas, and that could make TV watching in my house a drag!

Re: My Toddler This Week! 17 Months (1st week)
I feel your pain ! Aidan is a little monster! He climbs on the coffee table and trys to do a little dance before I yell and take him off! He also climbs UP an Down the stairs-- or I should say trys to -- He gets so mad when I take him away from the stairs.... He is quite stubborn and has started temper tantrums!
