My undergarment issues!! urgh!

Okay so I am slightly annoyed at the moment, tomorrow I am scheduled to go to RK Bridal to try on the dress and order it, three weeks ago I ordered a 'practice set' ( practice since I will need to purchase another set after the plastic surgery in Jan) of undergarments bra and girdle (actually it's more like a body smoother) when I ordered it I was told it was in stock and would be here in 5 to 7 days (Lane Byrant Catalog) well it's still not here yet, I called customer service yesterday and they said it was mailed out last thursday, my post office is pretty good, so I don't think it's them but now I don't have 'proper undergarments' to try on the dress, do you think it's a bid deal? I have something similiar to what I ordered but with all the weight loss, it doesn't really support me anymore and the bra is too big, should I just wear a newer bra I purchased that fits well and the older girdle, just to have an idea? I mean all of this is useless anyway since my dress will have to be majorly altered urgh! It's just sooo fustrating!!!


Edited to add: I am really p!ssed at Lane Bryant, how can you wait a whole week to mail something, when you told me I would get in 5 to 7 days??? I'm surprised at them usually I get things really quick from them, more like the 5 days than the 7 days they say it may take! With all this crazy weather maybe that's what held it up? the customer service woman didn't really give me a reason for the delay..

I also ordered my dress from RK Bridal, and didnt have the proper undergarments. It wasnt a big deal at all- they didnt need them to order my dress. :) Hope that makes you feel better!

I'm sorry you don't have your undergarments! I don't think it will matter too much, since there will be major alterations and changes down the road due to your surgery.

Thanks girls! I just got alittle freaked out, I am already soooo nervous about the dress, and I've never been to RK Bridal and I'm worried it will be like David's Bridal where you very out in the open and everyone is looking at you, right now I am over sensitive about my body since somethings are so out of place, my boobs are not where they should be, my arms look like they have flaps for me to fly away with.. In my head I know it's the reality of quick weight loss and in a few more months it will be fixed but still when I look in the mirror it drives me crazy!

Aw Jenn it stinks that you didn't get your order. I didn't need them when I tried on my dress - just when it was time for my fittings.

Sorry to hear that you're having problems with Lane Bryant - hope they're sorted soon.

Regarding RK Bridal -

Every bride has a private room with a heavy curtain for a door. The rooms are large and each has a large mirror - so if you choose to not leave your room, that's perfectly fine. Outside the rooms is a wall of mirrors with platforms for brides to stand on. The scene at RK is a little chaotic - there are thousands of dresses - but the dressing rooms are private and the women I worked with on my two visits there - Janice and Emily - were really really nice.

Sorry that your items didn't arrive when you expected. I hate when that happens. But I am pretty sure that you'll be okay. I had most of my measurements for the dress taken without the corset on...just bra and regular undies even though I had my corset with me. Do you plan on talking to them about your expected measurement changes in January? You want to make sure that the dress is going to fit - I think it can only be taken in a few sizes.

it will all work out....dont worry! I ordered my dress a year and a half ago and got my undergarments like a month ago ..you'll be FINE!!!

Well that's the big issue for me.. what size to order the dress.. I'm such a weird size right now shoulder's and boobs I'm about at 2x/3x, waist about a 3x, hips between a 3x/4x, If you only see me from the boobs up you would never be able to guess how much I really weigh.. it's soooo weird..

On a much happier note.. Yesterday I went to Walmart to buy some organizer drawer thingys, and lo and behold, they sell Just My Size tees and jeans, so I decide let's check out the jeans (hey they were only $20 bucks) so I look around and the biggest size they have is a 26W, now since I have no shame lol I used to be about a Size 36W which is a 5x/6x Guess what?? the stupid jeans fit perfectly!!! I was in shock!! but so happy because I can really see the difference now and it's a beautiful thing! but the sagging parts I could do without! lol

The evil thing about dress measurements - they take the biggest size. Definitely work with RK about sizing and voice all of your concerns. You are going to look so beautiful! I can't wait to seeyour pictures!!!!

I don't think you should worry about it now because if you are going to change that much it won't make a difference really. You'll really need them for after the surgery for your first fitting. Right now you just need to try on the dress to get an idea if you like it, it doesn't have to fit you perfectly because they will alter it anyway.
