I wanted to do something drastically different after the wedding, but I love the length of my hair (and so does DH)....
So instead I dyed my hair, got the Japanese Straightening and got bangs! DH is freaked out by my new look, but its growing on him.
Just wanted to share with all my lovely ladies.

It is amazing how hair changes a face! My friend did that straightening thing...how long did it take? It looks great!

OMG you look totally different! But gorgeous. I have to say I'm a fan of curly hair, but your new do is really pretty.

Re: My version of the 'Newlywed Chop'
The Straightening took just under 5 hours and it cost just under $300 (On Long Island!) and I have to say it was worth every second and every penny. Its the best thing I have ever done to my hair.

Re: My version of the 'Newlywed Chop'
I went to a place in East Meadow on East Meadow Avenue called 'Blown Away Hair & Nail Salon'. The place is very tiny and is owned by a sweet Chinese woman named Erica who speaks very broken English. Dont let the size of the place or the fact that she is hard to understand deter you though. All of the products that she uses are top of the line, high quality brands and she specializes in Japanese Straightening. The procedure takes anywhere from 4 - 7 hours depending on how curly and thick your hair is.
I found this salon through a coworker who got her hair done there about 4 weeks ago. My coworker's hair looks amazing and sealed the deal for me to get this done. My friend is Domincan and has TONS of long nappy curls. Erica charged her $290. My friend got this referral from someone else who paid $250, but they had shorter hair.
I paid $295 for straightening, a vitamin conditioning pre-treatment (since my hair is dyed) and a haircut!
The # to the salon is 516-794-1148. They are located at 591 East Meadow Avenue.
Based on my hair and my friends hair I HIGHLY reccomend this place and the price seriously cannot be beat on Long Island.
