my wedding disaster-literally!

my wedding disaster-literally!

Hi Ladies! Im back ! FINALLY! I finally have power!
did anybody hear of the big storm upstate? well guess what it happened on fri Oct 13th.......the day before my wedding! ONLY ME!!!!!!!!!!! It took FH's family 16 hours to drive to Buffalo because the thruway was closed! The news said there had not been so much snow fall in Oct since 1917!!!!!!! ........anyway trees were down which ripped power lines down...it was considered a state of emergency! my church and reception hall had no power, my househad no power......for 10 days !!!!! so obviously with the state of emergency everything was closed and cancelled. So after a short breakdown and tears , my brother in law had an idea to go to Niagara falls (which I might add had no snow!) it is like 20 minutes from where I live ....and get married in a wedding chapel, you know like Las vegas style... they have those up in Niagara falls, so FH and I talked and decided we can sit and sulk or suck it up and go get our butts married so that is what we did! .........everybody said well at least you will always remember your wedding! yeah ill say!!!!!!!!! so here are a few pictures ....please keep in mind thatt i had no professional hair or makeup, due to the storm , ........I have to say I was a bit scared thinking this a sign I should not be getting married, but Fh said nope its a sign that if we can get through a natural disaster /state of emergency, we can get through anything together! SO ladies remember what ever comes your way, just go with the flow , and look at what is really important not the cake, flowers, etc...but your love for eachother...and getting married! best of luck to all u soon to be mrs. ....

OMG that story is so unbelievable, but I really loved what you said in the end! It is so true. The flowers, cake, favors, etc does not really matter in the end, it is your love for one another. I am SO sorry your day started off the way it did,but so happy it ended the way you wanted it to <-- happily married!!!!! Congrats and your pictures are beautiful!

You loooked gorgeous! It's so wonderful to hear that you were able to get through such a ****** situation together and enjoy your wedding!

What happens now with your hall and church? Will the hall refund you the money or give you another date?

I think you look beautiful!! It dosen't matter if your hair and makeup wasn't done professionally- it's the glow on your face from marrying the person you love that makes you more beautiful on your wedding day!!

FH is right! Together you can get through anything!!

CONGRATS!!!

What a story!!!! You made a beautiful bride and a very handsome groom and so what if it wasn't what you pictured, nothing is. You can always have that big hall wedding but this is special and just for you! It means you were meant to be, thru thick and thin!

I love it! Way to persevere! Not even one of the biggest storms in NY history could keep you apart.!!!

Seriously, that's one of the best stories I've heard. Good on you!

This is an amazing story to tell for a lifetime. The kids will love that one!

First let me say that your hair looks amazing so I would have never known it wasn't professional.
Keep in mind that you always have each other and that is what makes the day. You can always dress up again and take pictures afterwards like
kittythestray did.

One more thing, I think your husband went to my high school...

So happy that you guys thought about doing this.

You did bring tears to my eyes thinking that what you said is true. Those things don't matter if in the end you marry who you love.

You looked lovely.

Wow. This just goes to show you - it's not about the details or anything else. All that matters is marrying the person you love.

I'm sorry your dream day was ruined, but you will always remember how special your day was now!
