I am so confused on my wedding dress!! I found a dress online (James Clifford) and when I went dress shopping none of the stores had it so I was never able to try it on. So after months of shopping and confusion on what dress to buy, I finally found one that I am in love with. I went yesterday to pay for it and now I am second guessing myself. In my mind the dress online is everything that I wanted in a wedding dress. Do I try and find a store that has it, or do I stop looking at it online and be happy with what I purchased?
I wanted to post pictures of both of them but i didnt know how to do it.

Re: My Wedding Dress
Did you order the other dress yet and put money down? If not call a salon that carries that 'line' and ask them to get it for you. Many stores will do this - some for a fee, but then they will credit you. For example it could be $75 to get the dress at BR but then they give you $75 to spend in their store sort of thing. Wedding Salon of Manhasset got a dress in for FREE for me! I ended up getting a different one but highly recommend them if they carry the line! Many manufacturers will them salons borrow it to make a sale!

do this! don't settle until you're sure - if you end up hating this phantom dress at least you can be absolutely sure about the other dress!

Re: My Wedding Dress
I would not settle at all. There was one dress I had to try on before I made a decision. I called the designer, asked what stores had ordered the sample for their stores (in a 100 miles radius). And I found one, 70 miles away. I tried on the dress and hated it. But i felt so relieved having tried it on, because if i hadn't, I would have always wonder 'what if that was the dress'

Re: My Wedding Dress
Definitely dont settle!!!! You absolutely have to try on that other dress. Your mind will always go back to it if you dont! I agree with the other girls, call a salon that carries that designer and have them get it in for you!!

Amy, I am lurking today...
It was Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. They said that BR is one of the only stores in the area that carries James Clifford. The one I got is: James Clifford Dress
Just an FYI, James Clifford is really Jim Hjelm. His full name is James Clifford Hjelm. He sold his Jim Hjelm line and is now designing under James Clifford.

I actually got a James Clifford dress at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. Give them a call and ask for Mary Lou! She is Great!
Definalty DONT settle for a dress you dont really LOVE! Try BR and see if they have it at least you can try it on and Maybe you will see the second dress you liked is actually the one....
GOOD LUCK

Re: My Wedding Dress
Thank You so much for the help!! When I went to BR they did not have the dress in the store. I am going to call them and see if they can order it for me to try on! The 1st dress is the dress i put money down on and the 2nd dress is the james clifford.
I had a similar problem... I ordered my dress and then regretted not trying on this Eve of Milady I saw that NO ONE had. I eventually called Eve of Milady's warehouse in Jersey and drove there to try on the sample. It turns out I hated it on me and kept my dress but I had to find it just to be sure.
If you really love it keep trying to find it. You still have time!!!!

Re: My Wedding Dress
Kim, both dresses are beautiful and you would make a gorgeous bride in a garbage bag!!!!
But I understand your frustration.........my recommendation, call the company (James Clifford) and ask what stores have that particular sample. See where that gets you. Even if you have to go somewhere else to try on the sample, you can still buy it from just about any store that sells James Clifford dresses (even if they don't have the sample), that's what I did.

Re: My Wedding Dress
both dresses are beautiful but if you are going to keep second guessing yourself you must try on the other dress just so you can have a clear head on your wedding day and be absolutely excited about your dress and how beautiful you look in it! good luck!
