My Wedding July 6th (LONG)
My wedding day was by far the most beautiful and happiest day of my entire life! I'm glad to be able to share my experience with all of you. : ) It's hard to know where to start, so I guess I'll start with the first thing I did that day… *Hair and Make-up* Kristen at Cactus Salon on Vanderbilt pkwy did my hair, which looked amazing! I got tons of compliments, and my hair, headpiece, and veil stayed put all day. Pam from Clinique came to my house to do my makeup, and again, it was flawless, and it lasted all day. She did my mom, my sister, and me and we all looked great! : ) I had my makeup put on at 11:30 am, and the only thing I needed to touch up was my lipstick, at 5pm! *Photographer* I used Laurie Studio. My photographer was Ken, the owner, and I had Barbara, who was his photojournalist. They were phenomenal! They were so professional, unobtrusive, and generally fun! All of my formal portraits were done before my cocktail hour started, which was great. Barbara was every bit the true photojournalist, telling the story of our wedding day from start to finish in awesome candids and 'fun' posed shots. She was also a wonderful help with fastening jewelry, fixing my blusher, and pulling a pocketknife out of her bag and cutting me free when my slip got caught on a branch! They arrived at my house at 1:00 pm, and didn't leave my reception until it was over at 12:00 am. I pick up my proofs tomorrow, and I can't wait! I highly recommend them and will praise them forever! *Flowerfield* Impeccable! I can't get over the service, attention to detail, food, décor… my guests were treated like royalty, as were Patrick and myself. My bridal attendant was Joette, who was a doll, and Scott, the maitre'd, was terrific! People kept coming up to us to say that they were having the time of their lives, and my best friend's husband, who is a chef, gave his compliments on the cooking. High praise! : ) For any up coming Flowerfield brides, we had Chilean Sea Bass, French Breast of Chicken with Rosemary, and Fillet Mignon with Bordelaise sauce. I tasted all 3, and can vouch for my guests who said everything was wonderful! *Dancejock* We got our DJ, percussionist, singer, videographer, zap shot photographers, and steel drum band from Dancejock. Every single solitary thing was excellent! Family friends of our in Boston actually went to their office the next day and booked them to do their daughter's wedding in Maine next June! Our emcee was Danny, and he was fabulous! He's done 5 of my friend's weddings in the past 2 years, so at this point he 'knows' us, and outdid himself. The dance floor was continuously packed, and the servers had to ask 3 or 4 times for everyone to sit down for dinner, because people were even dancing to the live 'dinner music'! Noteworthy songs were Sandstorm for the bridal party entrance, Heaven Must Have Sent You for Patrick's and my entrance, My Son for mom/son dance, For My Dad for dad/me dance, and We Are In Love for the cake cutting. We didn't do a bouquet or garter toss, and no one noticed. Our videographer was Dave, and he was great! He never put the camera down, and we had to beg him to eat. I would recommend Dancejock to anyone! *James Cress Florists* Every thing was beautiful, fresh, and exactly as I had requested. The delivery man was on time, and courteous, and everything arrived labeled, so there was no doubt as to whose corsage belonged to who. They would also get my recommendation. *Class One Limos* Again, their service was A+. We had 3 10 passenger limos, and all were brand new and clean. The drivers were polite and helpful, and I would gladly recommend them! : ) *Sandals Royal Bahamian* We had a wonderful time on our honeymoon, but 10 days at Sandals was too long. They had wonderful friendly service, and beautiful grounds, but the food was 'interesting', and there were only 8 restaurants, which were not always open, and some were buffet, which I don't care for. The retaurants also closed early. We loved lounging around the pool and the beach, and we are tan and well rested, but we might have enjoyed a bit more action. I would definitely go back to the Bahamas, but next time I'm staying at Atlantis. : ) Okay, I think this is way long enough, and so I'll stop. Good luck to those of you still planning! : )

A few questions....and I am glad your day was so great!
What is a zap shot photographer? Did you have a DJ and a band? If so how does that work, cost? What are the contact numbers. Thank you so much for your help.

Hi Michele, The zap shot photographers walked around my cocktail hour and reception with digital cameras and recorded the party as it was happening, and then put the pictures up on 2 large screens on either side of the DJ booth. We will get all the pictures on a video set to musicwhenwe pick up our wedding video. The screens were also used to flash baby pictures of Patrick and me during our parent dances. It was a big hit! We had a DJ, and while we didn't have a 'band' per se, we had a live percussionist and singer who entertained during dinner and dessert. Her name was Gail, and she was fabulous! So many people thought we had a band, and we got a ton of compliments! Here is Dancejock's website with their contact info. www.dancejock.com I honestly can't say enough good things about them!

Flowerfield wedding
I am getting married at Flowerfield the first week in sept. is there anything you were concerned about or would have changed. It sounds like everything was perfect, but I was just wondering. Did you use the white or ivory linens? How was your cake?

Flowerfield wedding ~ Michele
Hi Michele, You are absolutely correct! Everything was letter perfect, and I wouldn't change one thing about my wedding at Flowerfield! Believe me, you are in good hands! At one point, a ceramic bride and groom that my aunt made for me was knocked off of my cake table and broken. Not only did the staff repair it to the point that we couldn't tell that it was broken, they also offered to compensate us monitarily, which we refused. They were wonderful! We had all white linens and no chair coverings. The dining room looked beautiful! : ) I am sure you will have a wonderful wedding! Make sure you post and let me know how everything goes!

Congratulations on what sounds like a perfect day! Quick question for you--What kind of cake did you go with and how was it? I am having a tough time deciding on the flavors!

Hi Misha, We went with chocolate cake with buttercream icing and vanilla mousse and fresh strawberry filling. It was delicious, but we got even more of a reponse from the flourless chocolate cake that was on the dessert cart! I didn't taste it, but I heard it was outrageous! Oh, and we had the Victorian leaf design for the cake decoration, which was breathtakingly beautiful! Good luck to you! : )

JennRenee... Sandals?
How do you mean the food was interesting? We are pretty well set to book our July 2002 honeymoon there, & we don't know anyone who has been there!! We were thinking more along the lines of 6 or 7 nights... how early is early that these restaurants are closed? As for the action part... was there not ENOUGH to do, or did you guys not do a lot? We want to do things while we are there, so any advice is helpful before we go ahead & book!! Thanks!!

It sure is nice to hear that everything was perfect at Flowerfield. Thanks for all the info. I haven't gotten limos yet so I think I'll give Class one a call.
