Traditionally Jewish couples are supposed to exchange a talis (prayer shawl) for the groom and shabbos candlesticks are given to the bride. I had gotten FH his new talis and I told him that I would be more than willing to get a new set of candlesticks but considering that I have the ones from my grandparents there was really no need for it...
So long story short FH surprised me with a new TV stand/entertainment center and a new 40' LCH HD Samsung TV yesterday to be delivered on Tuesday!
I love FH sooo much!!
I don't have a pic of the TV but the entertainment center looks like this:
Don't get me wrong (as I know there is tradition behind it) but a tv is much better than candlesticks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And you know he will enjoy that gift as well!

Thanks I really love it so much better than candlesticks... now I have to find FH something more than his new talis...I feel like I have been so cheezy after we both said we wanted to be 'traditional:... so much for that.

wow thats amazing.
FH and I were talking about our gifts to each other, so I said since he's not a watch/GQ kinda guy. I would get him something small and sentimental that can be passed down one day but his major gift would be new ski stuff: skis, boots, pants, poles, gloves, goggles, etc. He already has a jacket that he loves so he doesn't seem to want another one, but if he sees one that he does like he can get that too.
