My Wedding Review
Here is a quick review of my 11/20 wedding.
Overall, everything was amazing and if I had it to do over again, I would use all the same vendors.
Still there were a few small issues that I'm sure only I noticed.
Carlyle on the Green - Everyone loved the place. The place and food were spectacular. I was however disappointed when I got there and found that I had a different bridal attendant and maitre'd then I was told I'd have. The bridal attendant I had (Mary) was very nice, but she just didn't seem to be on top of things. For example, during picture taking, I was always looking for her to help with my train or my bouquet. She never seemed to be there when I needed her. The maitre'd, (also, Mary) was also very nice too, but at one point she was advising my mom to leave my veil up after she kisses me when walking me down the aisle. I had to tell her that in a Jewish ceremony, the parents kiss the bride and put the veil back down. The groom lifts the veil after the glass is broken when the couple is officially married. I thought she definitely should have known that. There were a few other problems including an envelope for us that ended up in the gifts for the evening bride instead of with my gifts! Forunately the evening bride was kind enough to return the gift. And, finally, Carlyle was supposed to pack leftovers for me and never did.
Flowers by Burton- I went to see my sample centerpeice a few days before the wedding. They were nice but I felt the colors weren't as vibrant as I wanted. Mike said he would make a few changes and I was thrilled to see how they looked the day of the wedding. He definitely exceeded my expectations and the flowers looked georgeous. Only one comment, just before I was going down the aisle the Maitre'd asked me if I was supposed to have a runner. I never thought about it and nobody ever mentioned it to me before. I am not sure whose responsibility this is, but it definitely would have looked nicer. if I had one.
The Next Faze - The band is amazing and everyone raved about them but there were communication problems between the office and them. They played the wrong songs during the ceremony. They also never played a few things they were supposed to play during the reception and they never lifted us in the chairs during the Horah. We also don't understand why the band leader never introduced himself to us at the beginning of the wedding and we think he should have.
Photographer and Videotographer- Kornfeld Studios. They seemed great but I haven't seen the results.
Fairytale Makeovers. Jennifer is wonderful. My hair and makeup came out beautiful and she was at my house by 5:10am!!!
Honeymoon - Four Seasons in Maui, Hyatt in Kauai and my last and favorite two nights were at the Halekulani in Oahu. Amazing hotel. Service was even better than the Four Seasons!
I'll try to post a few photos soon. The day really was fantastic and I have been told over and over again by guests that it was the best wedding they had been to.
