My Wedding Review...long
I'm back from my honeymoon so I figured I should probably post a vendor review. First of all, I want to say that we had an absolutely amazing time. It really was the best day ever! There were a few things that weren't perfect, but all in all everything worked out.
One of the things that I had a problem with was really no one's fault. I should have made the invitation time a half hour later than it was. B/c of the Jewish religion, we couldn't get into the temple until after sundown, which was 6:12. The guys were all there on time, but the girls were a little late. We were all putting our dresses on and finishing getting ready while DH took pics with his family. Turns out we didn't have enough time to take all the pics before the ceremony as was planned. We had to miss most of our cocktail hour which was really disappointing. I'm also not sure if all the pics I wanted taken were taken. I'll find out tomorrow b/c I'm getting the proofs. Again, I don't think this was anyone's fault.
I guess I'll start with our photographer, Lamont (B+). We booked him b/c we used him for my brother's Bar Mitzvah and many families in my neighborhood have used him. I think he's very good, we'll see how the pics came out tomorrow. We also used them for video and I'm getting the unedited version tomorrow also. I also got engagement pics that were included in the package that came out great.
I got my gown at The Wedding Salon in Manhassett (B-). I loved my gown and everything was fine until the end. I wanted a regular hemline for the bustle, which is what I had at my last fitting. When the bridal attendant at the temple went to bustle my gown after the ceremony at my wedding, it was the wrong bustle (it was a french bustle, I think). I couldn't believe it! I kept saying, 'this is not the bustle I wanted!' Good thing the bridal attendant was also a designer b/c she made my correct bustle while we were taking pics during the cocktail hour. (She was hiding under my dress!). There was also another problem...I bought a slip from them too and when I put it on we noticed that the hook and eye were missing to attach it. We pinned it, but obviously not well enough b/c as I was leaving the ceremony it started to fall down! Again the bridal attendant was a big help. She pinned it to my corset and it stayed the rest of the night. Both of those things should not happen when you are paying a lot of money for a gown.
Temple B'nai Sholom in Rockville Centre (A+). I really loved this place. Both the ceremony and reception were here. It's beautiful, has wonderful food, and the price is definitely good. Jewish brides if you want more info forum mail me.
Bridal Reflections in Carle Place for BM dresses (A). Everything was fine. The dresses came in on time and the girls there were very helpful (especially Erin).
Dalsimer (A). I think our flowers were gorgeous! They were exactly how I wanted them. Red, white and ivory roses in a bubble bowl were the centerpieces and the bm bouquets. Mine were all red roses. The chuppah looked great too, not too elaborate which is what I wanted.
JK Entertainment (A+). This band is great! Everyone raved about them for days after the wedding and we know a few people who have booked them already.
Am I forgetting anything? I don't think so!
