So we got our wedding rings back in July while we were visiting Ct. My fingers are so weird-they seem to get smaller every day, I swear!! Anyway my engagement ring and wedding ring are both very loose on me. Do you think a guard on each will do the trick? Also, our wedding bands are sterling silver and my engagement ring is white gold. Do you think I should have my wedding band dipped in white gold to match engagement ring?
Thanks as always!!

It's not really that big of a difference so yeah, I think I'll leave it alone. Will definitely go and get ring guards this weekend, though.
Thanks

I would def dip the wedding band, silver changes its color so quickly!
And ring guards should def do the trick

Does anyone know how long the dipping takes-like can they do it while we wait? Because then I can have it done after the wedding.

I would get it dipped to match, because the silver does tarnish. Later on I would also get balls put into your ring - that's alot of money sitting on your finger and you don't want to lose anything. They are removable and can be popped out later if your fingers get larger.

Some sterling rings I think have coatings on them so they don't tarnish and I thought that some were rhodium plated. If yours is either maybe you will have trouble trying to plate gold over that? I think I would just ask a jeweler before making a decision. If it were me, I would wait and see if it starts to turn and then plate it but leave well enough alone until then.

Sterling as long as you wear it often does not tarnish as quickly. I have a sterling chain (its 925) and I always wore it and it never tarnished. As far as the sizing, its getting colder out, I would get a ring guard for now and maybe in the future have them flatten the bottom of the band-this will help with the looseness with out having to make it smaller. ALso remember that when you wear both they will be tighter. My rings went up 1/2 a size when I started wearing my wedding band. If you get the balls put on be careful, they balls have to be placed almost perfectly in order to be comfortable

I have a ring guard for my wedding band and it works fine. Of course today for some reason my ring a tight, where yesterday they were loose.

My jeweler put balls in my ering. They work great and aren't uncomfortable which I was expecting. The good thing is that they can come right out if your fingers get bigger.

Re: My wedding ring is too big!!
I just had my ring CUT and resized after a year of being engaged!!! It was just too loose and I have been trying to cope with it but washing my hands made me nervous and walking over the subway grates and stuff in the city made me super nervous so finally I said enough is enough! They had put balls in it months ago and it just didn't do the trick for me. I do recommend trying them before a more drastic measure, but I love my ring so much now that it has been cut. Of course I LOVED it before- but it just fits perfectly now!!!

Re: My wedding ring is too big!!
Dipping takes like 30 seconds (its kinda crazy) and I would suggest getting your ring resized (they can always make it bigger). I went to Genarro Jewelers in Bellmore (thank you to whomever recommended them) and they resized my ring and redipped it in an hour.
