So I'm about 90% finished...I want to add a quote near the beginning of the aisle but I wanted to post a pic so far. This project is really a weekend project and it takes HOURS but it is SO worth it!!

Re: My Weekend DIY!!
Instructions on my DIY Aisle Runner:
Materials: Aisle Runner(Ebay) Small Paint Brushes Acrylic Paint (Michaels) Monogram(I Do Originals) Tape Scissors Gift Wrapping Paper
So I purchased my monogram from I Do Originals and since I do not have powerpoint or publisher on my computer, I enlarged and printed my monogram under Excel.
After the monogram printed on multiple pieces of paper I taped them all together..
After taping them together, i taped the hole sheet of paper to the table. After taping the sheet to the table, I unrolled the aisle runner and placed it where I wanted the monogram to appear on it.
I also taped the aisle runner to the table so that it does not move while tracing the letters.
I sat down and traced the outline of each letter. (Draw not too heavy just in case you need to erase a mistake.) If you use pencil while tracing you should be able to erase a mistake.)
After everything is traced, remove the sheet of paper from under the aisle runner.
I then used gift wrapping paper to put under the aisle runner while I was painting the monogram. DO NOT USE NEWSPAPER!! I made the mistake of using newspaper under the 1st portion of the monogram, and when it dried, the newspaper is stuck to the back of the letters!!! i learned from this and switched to gift wrapping paper.
Painting the letters is VERY VERY time consuming. Take your time as any mistake will mess up your aisle runner so sit down and work on it slowly and carefully. Be careful of any paint that my spread on your fingers, etc cause as soon as you touch the runner, it will spread/smear on the runner. And start with your light color first.
I did 2 coats on the monogram and just 1 on the quote. It really depends on how the paint dries, that will dtermine how many coats you will need. Between coats let the aisle runner dry between 1 1/2- 2 hours. I think I have said everything that would help you ladies out....oh ya...this project will take you about a day to a day and a half to complete but it's so worth it!! (8-10 Hours)
