I think dentistry has come a long way since we were kids- I had an impacted wisdom tooth pulled this summer and while I don't want to do it again it was not horrible either. You'll be fine!

I was such a wimp, I had them put me out and an oral surgeon took out my tooth.

I didn't feel a thing!

definitely get put under, LOTS of liquids. I preferred cold over hot and even then, it had to be lukewarm. I got it done on a Friday and took Monday off of work since I had a migraine.

I didn't swell too much either...didn't take the vicodin they prescribed either. Advil was good enough for me.

Thanks! I am quite a wimp myself. I am too scared to be put out so I am getting novacaine.

I had all 4 taken out (2 impacted). I had them put me under and I didn't have any problems. I hope yours goes the same way!!

I had an impacted tooth pulled. I was nervous, but in pain, so I wanted it done. DH said I was in there for like 5 mins. It took longer for me to come out of recovery cuz they knocked me out. I didnt want to feel a thing.

I had all 4 pulled at once. I got a local anesthesia, was awake, but felt nothing in my mouth. I did however feel pressure as the surgeon was doing his thing, but all in all, everything came out ok.

Don't worry. You'll be fine.

Re: My wisdom tooth has to be pulled! I'm so nervous!

This happened to me just a few weeks before my wedding. I scheduled an appointment with my dentist a few weeks before my wedding to make sure there were no issues that i needed to worry about on my HM (i.e. toothache). He did xrays and said 'It looks like you need your wisdom tooth pulled because it is decaying and you risk a chance of getting a toothache on your HM'. So i was bugging out and i even posted about it right before the wedding....i only needed the one on my top left hand side. I was so crazy about it.......then i went in and it was NOTHING. A little pulling....but that was it.....My dentist even gave me Vicodin and i never used it. I had a hole there....and worried about dry socket (which supposedly happens more to bottom wisdom teeth). Nothing happened....i still have a slight hole but the only pain i sometimes get is when i chew gum on that side of my mouth.....

FM me....but unless you are having 3-4 out i would not recommend geting anathesia....i just got basic novicane and was eating wtihin three hours...

FM me if you need any further info!!! Good luck...there is nothing to worry about.

I had all four pulled at the same time. All I had was novacaine, and it wasn't bad it all. All I felt was some pressure. I had no swelling afterwards, and the pain wasn't too bad. The prescription ibuprofin worked well. They gave me vicodin, but I didn't like the way I felt on it.

I'm not much of a help because I haven't been to the dentist in a while and I never had my wisdom teeth pulled (however I bet they are going to need to be)....but I just wanted to wish you good luck. Make sure you have lots of fluids! Take it easy and try not to be nervous!!
