What color will you have them painted in and how many days before the wedding will you get the manicure?
I am worried that nail salons will be closed on July 4th, and if I do it on the 3rd, the nails may chip before the wedding.

Re: Nail Polish
Alot of nail salons are actually open on holidays, you would be surprised, so I don't think you'll have a problem finding one. I think I'm getting a french, but there is a really nice pink color called 'Flower girl' which is nice too.

I will be getting a french manicure on my hands and then the same pink on my toes, without the white.

Re: Nail Polish
I'm having crystal tips applied a couple of days before the wedding.. and I'll have a french manicure...I had my tips taken off a couple months before I got engaged so I'll need a couple of days to get adjusted to them...

Re: Nail Polish
If you are not going French, try Marshmallow or Trumpet (by Essie) If you are worried about chipping, put a coat of Nailtiques 2 on the TOP too. It always helps me out with no chipping!

Re: Nail Polish
I will be having my nails painted with a base coat of Marshmallow, probably (a sheer white) with a top coat of Ballet Slippers (sheer-pink-my all-time favorite color). I do not wear tips so they will be natural (well maintained though) and I will probably get them done the day before. And then after they are painted I will not move for an hour so that there are absolutely no flaws or blemishes.
Anyone wear color on their wedding day? While I probably will not, I think a deep dark red could be pretty if you had deep dark red roses in your bouquet...I guess chipping is an issue.

Re: Nail Polish
Probably French on my fingers. Definitely a coat of Nailtiques on top. My polish never chips when I do that. It would grow out before it chipped if I let it. I'm wearing open toe shoes, so I'm thinking something a little brighter on my toes for fun. Maybe a ruby red!
edited to say that I will do this the day before. Check with a bunch of salons. I'm sure you can find one that is open on the 4th.

Re: Nail Polish
No tips. I use Nailtiques pretty regularly, so my nails are long and healthy.

Re: Nail Polish
I'm either going to start growing my nails now, get them reinforced or silk wrapped, or get tips about 6 months before. I hate tips though, so i think ill try the natural thing... what are my options there? (my nails are so weak) We have a friends wedding in Nov. so i may get them done before that. But i'll get them polished the day before wedding.

French manicure the day before the wedding, airbrushed. No tips for me, I'm lucky my nails grow fast and are healthy..must be all the prenatal vitamins.

Re: Nail Polish
tracyg - Nailtiques Level 2!!! I sound like I'm selling the stuff, but it is so great. I used to have the weakest nails until I started using it. Now my nails are so strong they grow to the point that I eventually have to cut/file them down. Put one coat on every day, then take it off after about a week and start over again. I usually put it on right before I go to bed. It dries so quickly that it never gets mussed. I used to do all of the acrylics and silk wraps and all of that and it completely ruined my nails.
