nails.....

So....having this new ring on my finger makes me want to have perfect nails all of the time...but, unfortunately, manicures last for about 30 minutes on my hands (I'm always cooking/cleaning--I'm a Home & Careers teacher)....

But, I don't know if I want anything fake on my nails, either...what do you girls have? Are you happy with it?? Advice?

You could try a gel or shellac manicure. They are dry as soon as you manicure is over and they do not chip. They last about 3 weeks (or until your nails grow so that the bottom part is no longer at the base of your nail). The only reason I don't get them all the time is becasue I hate the process of removing the polish - they have to soak your nails in remover for a pretty long time (I think like 10-15 minutes) and then scrape off the polish - I hate that feeling (although its not as bad with shellac as it is with gel).

Def. try a shellac manicure - but be careful where you go. The first time I went to a fancy upscale salon, and they did a HORRBILE job! I had a french and the whites weren't straight or even and then it started chipping after like 4 days! For my wedding I went to my local nail salon and they did the best job! It lasted me just over 3 weeks and I am extremely hard on my nails.

i have the best solution! i read about it last year in a magazine and have been doing it ever since and can get a regular mani to last chip-free for 1.5-2 weeks. i bought the a clear polish (its revlon, i think its called 'extra life' or 'no chip' or something like that) and starting the day after a mani (or the day of if you think you will get a chip) i put a coat of it on. I put one coat on each day for like 3 consecutive days. sometimes after like a wekk ill do another coat just to bring the shine back in my mani. try this befoe you go off spending a ton of money of tips or shellac.

the revlon cost be about 4 dollars, but before that one i had just been using a $1 wet'n'wild and that also did the trick just fine. i would have bought it again, but CVS didn't have it so i got the revlon. the revlon dires a little faster which i like!

I have the gel and work in a preschool and is the only thing that does not chip after one day. It is a pain to take off though.

Re: nails.....

the shellac lasts a long time and wears well, when you have it removed make sure they scrape it off with an orange stick and not a metal tool otherwise you will lose the top layer of your nail

Re: nails.....

Get a gel manicure! They are more expensive but so worth it. They tell you it will last for two weeks, but mine lasted close to four.
