OK. so i have NO NAILS. at all. I bite. terrible, i know, but true.
i've gotten tips before, but was wondering if you all thought I should just get the tips the day before my wedding or if i should get a set soon, and get fill ins.
not even sure im asking that correctly, just wanted to get some opinions.
TIA!

Re: Nails - HELP!!!
I would get them soon, and get fills...only because I've had a bad reaction once when I got nails put on (cuticle infection)...probably a very rare occurrence but better safe and early IMO

Re: Nails - HELP!!!
i got the set 2 weeks before my wedding, because i wanted to make sure i found someone to do them the way i liked them
and then did a fill in the day before my wedding
i did the UV gel set...no acrylic its much more natural looking, thin, no fake nail attached to your nail and it lasts forever, i still have the set on my nails from sept 1st!
i dont see a need to start getting them now, if you only want them for the wedding.

that's a good point. maybe ill go to the salon soon and ask them what they think. they've done my nails before (with tips) but they're never happy about it since my real nails are so short lol
oh and to boot im allergic to crazy glue so they have to use gel

you and me both, lady!
i got the tips with uv gel on top, with nail polish over that, i got it last week for 2 reasons - 1 so that i get used to nails, and 2 so that maybe by the time i get my nails done for the wedding they will be long enough that i can get regular color gel on them with no tips. if they arent going to be long enough i am going to get a brand new set, no fillins because i dont think fills look as good.

I would also suggest going soon so you will have time to try out different lengths and colors and find something you will be happy with!

I would suggest getting them on soon because you might have to adjust. Sometimes people have a tough time buttoning, holding, etc until they get used to them.

Re: Nails - HELP!!!
I am a big nail and cuticle biter lol. I just got my tips put on last week. I did the permanent gel pink and white set. It looks really natural and pretty and lasts. you should get them on soon to make sure you like them and they do them properly.

Re: Nails - HELP!!!
i didn't do tips to prep since i have the same problem. I just started getting a regular gel UV mani like a month and a half ago. my nails have improved tremendously and since the polish doesn't chip, i don't feel the need to bite my nails (as long as I keep my appt every 2 weeks, but once it gets past that and the shellac chips, then i go right back to biting). it's worked out well for me. it's not as permanent and doesn't need as much upkeep.
just wanted to give you another option :)

Re: Nails - HELP!!!
For years I used to get acrylic put on top of my natural nails, because they had a tendency to break once they got a certain length. Now I use the UV gel and I am hooked. It's great. Very natural looking.
As far as the white french or pink french - it's totally up to you which one you would prefer. If you're going for the classic look, do the white french. Hope this helps.

Re: Nails - HELP!!!
instead of getting tips, why not get fiberglass put on your natural nails? that is what i do, i have no tips on top of my nail and they just attached this little strip of fiberglass to your nail then cover it with whatever it is they use. it will look just like your own nail (obv. a little bit thicker) and you can let them grow out from now until your wedding to the desired length. I would do them now because sometimes when you first get them done, they are to wide or thick (i find, in my experience) and once you get a fill in done, they look ever so much better!
i got new fiberglass put on 2 weeks before my wedding and had a fill in done the day before

Right its totally up to you. I like pink french myself (like Essie Mademoiselle or Sugar Daddy) with the white line.
White french is also very nice too - Dante White Russian, Essie Marshmallow or Picket Fence.
This is why you should start now so you can try out a few different options to see what you like! HTH!
