I'm planning on getting a perm. french tomorrow. How damaging is this?? Also, I got wraps once a LONG time ago in HS and I remember my nails hurt the next day and a week later I decided I hated them and got them removed (I think I hated the look of them b/c of the place I went to- they were long skinny nails, totally unnatural, I felt like a hooker lol) Anyone have experiences w/ the perm. french being uncomfortable?

Re: nails help
I just got mine done and i guess it depends on where you go because the last time I went to one of the Angel tips places and yes my nails did hurt. This time I got them done and it was pain free. I went to a different place and it was a world of differece

Re: nails help
I love my permanent french!! ANd I know what you mean when you first get a full set from all the filing & stuff your nails feel weird almost like sore after!! it goes away quick tho!! And yes, it will be damaging to your nails when you take them off.

Re: nails help
I just changed salons and this time to get the nails off they had me soak my nail in the remover but that dish was in a hot/warm water bin and then they covered it with a towel. Honestly it came off so much faster and they filed some off half way thru. It didnt leave my nails hurting. I thought that was interesting?? I told my mom and she says 'They didnt take it off with the plastic card like they did mine' ouch!!

Re: nails help
when i first got them on my nail's hurt like a biotch the next few days but now its fine. I dont like how some places i have bee to style them, too wide or thick - but i found a place who does them right now.
your nails will be damaged (thin) if you take them off, but while they are on- they arent damaging. pretty much any treatment t your nails will thin them b/c of buffing

hmm I don't know what I should do- I don't want my nails to be sore! By the time my wedding comes, I assume they won't be Should I just stick w/ a regular french mani?

A regular french manicure won't last though, it chips very quickly, unless you have wraps, tips or some other form of fake nails.
I am hoping my nails look normal enough at my wedding that I won't have to get wraps, tips or anything else besides a reg. manicure. EVERYTIME i get anything else, I regret it, i love it while they are on, but then my nails take FOREVER to recover.

No, I wouldn't suggest a regular manicure because it chips so quickly. I've never had any pain when I put tips on or wrap my nails. The only thing I can think of is that your nails feel a little weird for a couple of hours, but it's not really painful and it's never lasted more than a day.

You don't have to do the permanent french if you don't want to. I personally have never done it, because I like the flexibility to change the color and I also think getting a regular french on the acrylic or silk wraps looks more natural than the permanent french. It's up to you, but either way it will look nice.
