Here is some background... I used to get my nails wrapped all the time, but then I was getting annoyed and didn’t want to spend so much time and $$ at the nail salon, that I stopped getting them wrapped, and just started taking care of my nails. In about a year, they grew so beautifully, and I couldn't be happier...fast forward to me getting engaged and stupidly deciding that I should get a permanent french since people are going to be asking to see the ring, and I am anal with my nails and they have to be prefect..... well i go get the UV permanent french... $75 (i am nuts) then not even a week passes and I already had to get them filled ($25) now, it has not even been 2 weeks since my last fill in and they look crappy and they turned yellow.... i thought the purpose of the UV was so they do not turn yellow?!
This is were you guys come in.... I have a party on Wednesday and a wedding on Saturday... so should I get my nails done tomorrow? If I do, any recommendations?!?! PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!
Sorry so long.... I am just so freakin frustrated that I spent a total of $105 and I was not happy for even a day!!!!

Re: Nails vent... need help/advice
I had the same thing happen to me. I finally took them off myself (soaked forever!) and now my own nails are shot. I've been putting the strengthener on to help but it's a slow process....
the best thing I've found for a quick fix are the cheap $5. set of short french tips you put on yourself from the drugstore. I've used them a bunch of times, always looks nice and when I'm done you take them off and they don't leave your nails so shot.
not sure what you can do if you go to the nail place. (maybe try another salon and see what they say?)

I had the permanent french for the wedding and I hated them. As soon as I went out in the sun they turned yellow. If you already have them on, why don't you just put polish over them? That should keep them from turning yellow at least.

I do that too...when I want short simple french tips, I just get the drugstore brands, put them on the night before, wear them for the occasion I need to wear them for.....then they come off easy and don't hurt or damage your real nails underneath while they're growing.

Re: Nails vent... need help/advice
I have had the same problem in the past. The best thing for my nails is to leave them alone! It took me some years and probably hundreds if not thousands of dollars to figure it out.
I have never tried the pharmacy press on nails, but it does seem like a hassle free solution.

I would go back to getting wraps every 2 weeks. I had perm french for awhile also. I just disliked it, plus mine turned yellowish too.
I love my silk wraps, I could never go back to regular nails now. yes it costs money every 2 weeks but it's so worth it to me at least. I get so many compliments on my nails all the time.
if you really don't want to spend money doing all that, the ones in stores like cvs/walgreens are good too.

I get the regular french tips and use a clear polish over it...never had a problem with them yellowing. They actually stay perfectly and I get a fill in every two weeks. Can you try without the UV if that seems to be causing the yellowing

I go to Rocky Point Nails in Rocky Point. Love them. Ask for Brendan or Tina.
