having them done for the wedding? Are you doing a french, solid color, will you put tips on or if you already have tips what kind? I am contemplating doing just a very simple french with my tips....or maybe the white tips? Any suggestions?

fh doesnt like long nails but i might get short tips just so the paint doesnt chip and ill prob do a light color like ballet slippers or something

I always do my french with ballet slipper. My dress is actually invory so i don't know if i should go for more whiter or pinker color....im thinking pink like the ballet slipper for the good contrast.

Tips are so tempting, but I always pick them off and my nails are ruined for months... so I think I'm going to have a regular manicure... probably a pale color like ballet slippers or a french.

i just recently got rid of my gel wraps that i've had for the last 12 yrs or so - looking forward to a regular french manicure, hoping it doesn't chip before pictures!

I personally hate the look of fake nails.
I am a biter and have been a biter as long as I can remember. I quit for 3 months around the time I got engaged, and then another 2-3 months around Labor Day, but my problem is that I'm not used to having nails so they are weak and break easily. Once a few go, I take care of the rest.
I've gone about 2.5 weeks now without biting again!!! I'm really trying
For the wedding, I really hope to have natural nails as long as possible. If they aren't long, they wont be long. I will not be getting tips.
I'm just worried that I might break 1 or 2 and then they will be really uneven...
Edit: either way I will be doing french, it looks good on long or short

I had permanent french manicures for about a year leading up to the wedding, and I think they looked great on the big day.
They use a special gel to do the manicure over your natural nails .... they don't look fake in my opinion. Here's a picture:

those look great! not like your typical square fake nails at all!

Instead of using nailpolish, they use a gel that they paint on your nails. It dries in between steps under a uv light.
Its the best ... it doesn't chip, and it takes a lot (like slamming your hand against the wall and hitting the nail at a weak point) to crack it.
It does grow out though .... and has to be re-done every few weeks. Most people go every 2 - 3 weeks.

I've had nails on for the past 10 years, I wouldn't know how to function w/o them at this point. I did talk to my nail lady last night and we are going to soak mine off and do a fresh set in the permanent french for the wedding. I love how they look
