If you hyphenated your last name and DH last name do you still have to go to change everything at motor vehicle and social security?

Yes, legally it is a new last name so you have to make the change.
I wish they still allowed us to ADD a second last name without the hyphen - too bad that's not an option anymore.

Go to Social Security pretty sure I got the new card in two weeks
then go to DMV I got new lis. right there
Go to banks... My bank still cant seem to get the name right on my card... they put Nicole R. last name instead of Nicole R***-R*** oh well, it seems to work fine
then call credit cards- some will let you do it over the phone some you have to provide proof
Do your passport- I waited and now it's taking forever
