How do you ladies feel about changing your name? I don't think I want to .. I like my name. Plus my name with FH last name sounds like a disease. He is totally fine with me keeping my name. He thinks my future in-laws won't be happy though. Just wondering how you all feel about it.

i haven't changed mine. i don't feel the need to, and he doesn't care soo.... if people call us mr and mrs though i don't correct them.

I will change mine. I've always wanted to and FH's last name isn't bad if it's pronounced correctly.

Im not thrilled about changing my name at all. Im stalling on the whole process actually. I kind of feel like I'll be 'disconnecting' myself from my family.

Im definitely changing my name.. Traditional girl I guess!! I also think it's a beautiful gesture to become a real 'family' with your spouse...easier on the kids too to have their parents with the same last name.

First Middle FH'slastname
Maiden --> Middle is common among female attorneys but I still can't decide.

I dont want to change my name but FH is being such a baby about it. I dont like the way my name sounds with his last name. It doesn't flow the same way as my maiden name does.

I'm definitely changing my name. It's not that I want to get rid of my name, as I do feel a little strange lately, as it gets closer to our wedding, that I'm going to be changing my identity in a way. But I like the traditional feel to it, that my mom took my dad's name, I'll take FH's name, and then our children will have the same last name too. That's not to say that I'm not attached to my own name, as I've been into publishing (in HS, college, and a little dabbling in the young adult cancer survivor community), so changing my name will also affect that part of my life too. But I'm looking forward to it!
