Name change and Address Change Question

I am a bit confused and hope you girls can help:
I just got married and now I have to go to DMV and SS office to change my name.
I have a NYS driver license, but I don't drive, so I only use it as my ID card. The address on there is my parents address in NY. A few months ago I moved to CT with my husband, and we may move back to NY in a year, undecided now. My confusion is this:
Since I don't drive, but live in CT, can I still go to NY DMV to change my name, or do I have to give up my NY Driver License and change my name and address and apply for CT driver license? I listed my residence as CT on my marriage license, when I go to the SS office, will they also ask which state I live in? I'd like to keep my NY Driver License because I still work in NY, my family is in NY, and we may move back to NY, but I don't know if I can keep NYS driver license when my marriage license says I live in CT, and now I write everywhere that I live in CT, except my Driver License is NYS issued. What would you do? Less hassle the better :)

Re: Name change and Address Change Question

your drivers license doesnt really matter. for example i have a Florida drivers license and live in HI. If u want just go to the DMV in NY and ask to change ur name, dont change the address. SS will just ask for a mailing address (they will need to mail your new card) and you will need to show your marriage license.
