Name change help.

I posted this on the newlywed board, I thought I'd get more responses here and hopefully a definite answer on what to do.

On my marriage license I took my husband's name. I have come to realize hyphenating is what I really want. Does anyone know how I go about changing this. I want to be Karen Middle Inital maiden-married name.

Do I just go back to where we got our marriage license?

Just use your hyphenated name. You don't have to officially change it. As long as you are not doing it to defraud anyone, you can use your maiden name or married name interchangeably as you wish.

Thanks for the information. I'm going to call the Town Clerk's office just to be on the safe side anyway about changing my marriage license. I haven't changed anything w/MV or SS so it should be no problem.
