ANYONE HAVE SUGGESTIONS TO MAKE IT EASIER?? I FOUND THAT SITE THAT HAS ALL THE FORMS BUT IT STILL IS TIME CONSUMING AND A PAIN IN THE COOLIE....
I THINK I SHOULD START WITH MY DRIVER'S LICENSE FIRST RIGHT...THEN SOCIAL SECURITY???

I did social security first...still haven't changed my license lol. I figured social security was more important since it's linked with bank accts, credit cards, etc. Plus I wanted my name officially changed with them so when my son was born, we would all have the same last name.
One of these days, I'll make it to the DMV lol.

Yeah license first then social security then your banks and credit cards and insurance policies and a million things. It really is a pain. It takes awhile. I have found that most credit cards let you change it online. Some places just require a phone call. Others require a faxed copy of your marriage license. While the bank and my car loan required an in person visit with the original marriage license. You are absolutely correct is a LARGE pain in the coolie!

Ugh I'm sooo not looking forward to this! But we just got the marriage certificate yesterday so I guess I should get started. Ironically, I lost my license the day after the wedding when we went wine tasting so I needed a new one anyway

i haven't even started yet!! i had every intention of doing it the week after the honeymoon and didn't do anything!
i am going to the DMV in huntington first (NEVER a line), then SS and then doing my banks little by little.

name change process really stinks. But I suggest starting with SS then drivers license. SS office is the worst part.
