Ok ladies...how on earth did you go about changing your name with Social Security? Did you mail in the forms? What did you send with it? They said they need the marriage cert. and a license or birth certificate...will they send that all back? Help..im clueless!

I went down to SS and brought my marrige licence and birthcertificate also bring your old SS card. HTH

SS you just need you Marriage Cert and fill out 1 form and you also need proof of ID (passport, Drivers Lic).....got new card exactly 1 week later.
DMV is pretty much the same.

I went to the SS office close to my house. I had to wait a bit, but it was worth it. I brought my marriage certificate, and my original ss card.

try this thread, I went to the SS office with the forms already filled out and it was a piece of cake:
I went first thing in the morning and total time was about 45 min. to an hour. They took their time opening the windows. Bring your papers and that's it your done they mail you a new card in a few weeks.

I went down to SS and brough license and mariage license. Old SS card and my application already filled out. It took me about 2 hours to get it done. HTHs
