Name change trouble!

Okay I know this might sound nuts but I am wondering if anyone has this same problem...

My father called me the other day and we were talking about the wedding. He jokingly asked if I have been practicing how I will sign my new last name and it occurred to me: I can't write script! It took me YEARS to be able to sign my last name now and even still it looks like a 4th grader wrote it! When I tried to sign my new last name it look like I wrote it with my right hand (I am a lefty!!!)!! I've been trying to practice but it looks terrible. It doesn't even remotely match the way I sign my first name! Is anyone else having this anxiety or am I the only lunatic????

Just keep practicing writing in script, not just his last name but all types of words and things till you get used to writing that way. Then, practice the full name.

Sorry i figure eventually you will get used toit & it will look perfect. Dont worry about it. Its just a signature.

Im not worried im a righty & wheni write his last name next to my first name it looks justa s good simply because i love it!

It has always been really hard for me to learn script. I remember as a child my grandmother would make me sit at the table every single day and practice. I still always got bad grades in handwriting in school! I don't know if it has anything to do with the fact that I am left-handed but I am starting to think I am a lost cause!

mine now is just a scribble
but i know no one can copy it
thank god FH's last name is shorter than mine now but i will miss my Italian last name and the fact that everyone that mispronounces it

I was actually doing this yesterday and I do not like the way it looks. I dont know if you are going to understand what I am talking about but, when I sign my name I sign my first name and continue into my last name. Now since my new last name will start with 'Mc', I cant do that. I have to stop after the first name, write the 'Mc' then the second half (if that makes any sense)

My new last name starts with an S... and I hate the way my signature looks with a proper capital S..... so I decided I will do a print S and just attach the end of it to the next letter... i made it by own and it looks better that way IMO

I'd probably do something similar if my last name started with a Q...

Yes! I know exactly what you mean! I sign my full name now like it was one word. Now that my new last name starts with an R, it doesn't look as good! I find that odd because my last name now starts with a D and somehow I made it one word anyway!

I too hate my hand writing and my last name is long. So just the other day I tried with FH's and not only I have double h's I have a z at the end......
Oh yea I really need to practice

i DESPISE my handwriting and i have practiced FH's name a few times...not really sure how i feel about it...i'll have to keep practicing... you should all know i have every intention of writing it 100 times after i finish posting this...

ETA: FH's last name starts with an 'F' i hate script capital F's!!!

At least you're getting a normal last name! We got our marriage license on Friday and walking to the court house.. i was telling brian I'm not taking it

I dont think you have bad handwriting, number one. And two... if you really don't like it... simplify your signature, just write Nicole R. in script though.

Ok Megs not to prove you WRONG or anything but just LOOK at my signatures! My original name is sloppy enough but at least it flows! My new last name looks even worse than my old! Mike always makes fun of me saying my first name looks like 'Onecole'

You will eventually get used to it. Also, nowadays, girls keep their last names anyway. Ha Ha

You're crazy!! I see what you mean that it doesnt flow. BUT i dont think the 4th one down looks bad

Do what I do -- my current signature is basically a scribble with some curls and stuff. i showed it to FH and even he agreed that it could actually be a signature for his last name, so I am not changing a thing!

Funny story -- I used to have a beautiful signature, until I went to Italy when I was in high school (many many moons ago) and I had to take like a thousand dollars all in $20 travelers checks. My signature deteriorated after signing all those checks and it has been my crazy signature ever since!

That is too funny! The same thing happened to FH... He used to work in a job where he had to sign his name 20 times a day... Over time his name is now looks like an M then a line and an R with another line.
