Name changing?
We sent out our invites today (yayyyyyy) and it got me thinking about my new name! I was curious what you ladies are doing as far as your names. It's hard to decide because obviously I'm attached to my name- it's who I've been my whole life! I did decide though to change my name! Ps how do you go about changing everything?!

I'm definitely changing my name. I had thought I would be attached to my last name and have second thoughts about changing it, but I actually don't and am looking forward to taking his name. As for the process that goes into it, I'm probably gonna look it up or ask some of my newly married friends.

I wanted to keep mine because i really love my last name and don't see the point in the tradition. But my FH was adamant about me changing my name to his. He really has had no preference thus far about any of the wedding planning and is letting me choose and decide on pretty much everything, so since this was his only real request I said i'd change it.. I was gonna hypenate, but both of our last names are pretty long so it would be too complicatedHe has an Armenian last name and it's really difficult to pronounce and spell so I will just have to be Mrs. S in the classroom :)

I didn't like the idea of changing mine. I had a beautiful italian last name and my husband's is kind of plain. But I want to have the same last name as my children, so I changed it.

I will start the name change process after I get the actual marriage licence back. I know I will have to get used to signing my name with a different last name. Towards the end of the wedding, I had to sign something stating that I got everything back and I was signing my maiden name and the maitre d was like that happens a lot.

I will be hyphenating! I like FH last name but didn't want to lose my last name completely.

I LOVE my last name and don't love FH's so much. So I asked him, do I REALLY have to change my name? He said, if you want to call yourself my wife you do! LOL!! I am actually looking forward to it. We have a 6 year old daughter and everyone calls me Mrs. ____ anyway.

I'll always be referred to by my last name, no matter how long after my wedding it is. My aunt was married 40 years ago and is people still say 'well she is a (her maiden name/my current last name) after all!' They even say it about my cousins who have never had the same last name as me! Lol.I am changing my name though. I think it's each girls decision on what will be comfortable for her. My reasoning isn't bc I want to have the same last name as my kids (which I do), or bc his name is better than mine (it is), I just have never questioned changing y name. My profession allows me to change it easily, and I look forward to us having the same last name.
