I was just wondering if anyone thought this way.....
Now that you are older, is there a name that you HATE? WOuld not name your child this name or may not even date anyone with this name? I mean, there is this EX of mine, named Mark....and he was a wacko, so anytime I hear this name, I automatically associate this person with his name...just because...I just do.....
Also, in HS and Elementary school, I was always the tallest girl and ALWAYS had to stand next to the tallest guy, Wayne, who was not my idea of cute.....
So I think those memories make me not like the name...I just assoicate it with him no matter what....and would never name a child of mine that name, and would have constant reminders of him if I were to date a guy with that name...
Then there was this Biotch named Molly I had class with in College and she totally got on ym nerves, being the kiss-ass and all....and because of her, I do not like that name...and would never name a child that name.....
Anyone else?

Re: NAMES....
Ok, but to answer your question, I can never name a child something if I know that I, or someone else I know, has/had an animal named that For instance, I LOVE the name Natasha, but since my aunt had a dog named that, I cannot name a child that. But what really makes me mad is that I've loved specific names since I was a teenager and I had to go and give them all to my cats

Re: NAMES....
SO funny Rach! I used to love the name Jasper for a pet, but when Iw as in 7th grade and my teacher gave us all CRAYFISH, I named my crayfish Jasper...and he climbed out of his bowl and died so I could never name a REAL pet Jasper

Re: NAMES....
Cosmo!! everyone thought it was hilarious when Kramer revealed his first name, but we have an Uncle Cosmo in my family so i didn't understand why it was funny
my psycho stalking ex has the same name as DH!! so the stigma of the name has worn off...
As a teacher, there are names that remind me of students that drove me crazy...Jordan, Jarryd, Ray, Will, Ronnie....lol...so I don't think I could use them...
I find the old fashioned names beautiful, but I doubt I would name my child it...like Ester and Athala (my two great aunts), but I would love to used my grandmothers names for middle names...Josephine and Martha...not as first names though

Re: NAMES....
There are definately names that I hate because I associate them with rotten people I worked with or went to school with. There's also someone who named their dog by a regular girl's name so I could never name my kid that. I always think of a dog.

Re: NAMES....
Only one name that I really hate.. and would never name a child : Hilda. It's my mother's name.
Other than that.. there's names I wouldnt use because I just don't like them, over used or just don't fit. But they're not BAD names.. just not for me. Sorry if I offend anyone, its just a personal preferrence.
Ann, Mary, Maria, Marie, Lolita, David, Josh, Penny, Rosemary, Rose, Julia (way over used in our family), Emilia, Yesnia and Jesus.
Those are about it I think, for now. hehe
ETA: Also hated name, not to be used: Ruth, my stepmothers name.

Re: NAMES....
John....it was my abusive ex's name...and anyone else in his family: Jack, Karen, or Susan or the girl he cheated on me with, Margaret. FH and I have lists of names that remind us of someone and refuse to consider when it comes time to name our children.
