I was thinking about instead of assigning tables numbers i would assign them countries or cities within countries. like paris, or france, or italy or milan, something like that. has any one hard about that? if so what how is it done?
I've heard of this before. There has been quite a few girls on here, who have had themes and named their tables accordingly. One couple liked to travel a lot, and they were naming their tables after all the places they had been to. I'm not sure what you mean by how is it done. It would be done the same way as you would do it with numbers.
i just meant do you do the the country or a major city or does it not even matter, just however you want.

I was thinking about naming the tables after all different types of flowers and then have that type of flower on that table as a centerpiece...just a thought but I dont think I'm doing that now!

It's done exactly as you described it! The only complication to this is that you may need to create a chart for guests as to where each table is - or else they will have to walk around and look at each table to see if it is theirs. For a small reception I don't think it is a proble, but if you think you are going to have alot of people - help em out with a chart! Good luck...
Also, can do cute things like use a map at each site or a picture -- kind of depends on how creative you want to get.
