Re: Napa valley and hawaii

i'v been to hawaii and napa and sonoma! first, I personally like sonoma wayyy better than napa. napa is over done- there are sooo many wineries and many are just not that good. personally, i don't care to go to a winery and taste wine that i can buy a bottle of at the supermarket for $10. lol. but this is what i found a lot of in napa. sure there are good ones in napa, but its croweded and and you have to do research. sonoma on the other hand, is smaller and in my opinion much prettier. the bed and breakfasts there are outstanding and its very peaceful. we drove to several wineries and all were delicious and had gorgeous grounds. also, in hte center of town, there were many great restaurants. of course, napa and sonoma are only like 45 minutes apart so you could always check out both....

as far as hawaii goes, all the islands are great. for a honeymoon, maui and kauai are perfect. there are two main hotel areas in maui: ka'anapali beach and wailea. i prefer ka'anapali (love the westin there) because it is a short drive from lahaina (good retaurant and bar area), but wailea is awesome as well. overall, oahu/waikiki can be skipped...sooo crowded with japanese tourists and the beaches are public so they are packed all the time. also there is a big 'strip' where the hotels are, and it reminded me of the vegas strip, just on a beach. you will still have agreat time if you go, but i would rather spend the time elsewhere. if you do stay there though, the royal hawaiian is the place to stay!

also, i just noticed your wedding date, and it will be prime time in napa/sonoma (its harvest time) so it will be extra crowded. make sure you book early and do some research, there are usually great events during this time of year if you plan ahead!
