We have narrowed it down to two places The Woodlands in Woodbury and the Vineyard caterers in Aquebogue. We love them both and are trying to decide between both. Any thoughts on why one is better than the other? The only difference we can see right now is that Vineyard caterers is $6000 cheaper-other than that we love them both and are going to look one more time at both. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated ladies! Thanks!

Re: Narrowed it down
I've heard wonderful things about the Vineyard... nothing about the other one, sorry. The only complaint i've heard about the Vineyard is that it is Sooo far out east.... but that concern might not apply to you. i've just heard of others having to spend a lot of moeny on shuttles, buses, etc. out there.

Re: Narrowed it down
My cousin went to a wedding at the Woodlands in November and said it was one of the best weddings she has ever been to. Truth be told she is a bit of a diva and hard to please so if she says it's good I believe it. I haven't heard much about the Vineyard but the idea of a Vineyard wedding sounds fantastic. The only negative would be is that it is soooo far out east but depending on where you and the bulk of your guests live that might not be an issue.
Good luck

Re: Narrowed it down
i went to a wedding at vineyard caterers earlier this year. It was beautiful, only one complaint was during socktail hour they had these huge blowers on to circulate air and when anyone would walk by it felt as if you were walking through a windstorm. The food was delicious, service was good.

So funny, same thing happened to me and my FH when we were at a wedding there early this year... The food was great and the ceremony where the couple got married at the place was very nice also.

Re: Narrowed it down
i don't know anything about the woodlands, but i went to go see vineyard caterers and I really liked it. The vineyard is gorgeous to take pics in and I liked how the cocktail hour was kind of rustic and looked out onto the vineyard...and that they had tha big grill! They also have their own wine, which is kind of a neat thing. Good luck with your decision!

Re: Narrowed it down
I am getting married at the Vineyard. When I made my decision I had to imagine where I could picture my FH and I saying our vows. There was no contest. I loved the Vineyard. Bill (Part-owner) was great. He was not pushy which is what we liked. They appear to be laid back which is the type of day we want. Also, the pics will be amazing. GO WITH YOUR GUT!

I went to a wedding last year at the Woodlands and it was great. A guy I work with just got married there a few weeks ago and loved it as well.
