We are staying at the Radisson in Aruba. I heard it's beautiful there and I also heard the Hyatt is beautiful. I don't know anything on St Lucia but I'm sure it's beautiful also. Good luck deciding, I'm sure whatever you choose will be great.

Re: Narrowed it down to 2 honeymoon places! Help! :)

How long are you going for, if your doing the 10 days or longer thing, then definitely St. Lucia. Aruba was great and we had a great time (the Hyatt is a good choice by the way) but I don't think its as great for a honeymoon as Sandals St. Lucia would be. In St. Lucia you have 3 different resorts to play and eat at for your entire trip. Stay at 1 play at 3. You can't beat that. My vote would be, do Aruba your next trip and Sandals your honeymoon.

Re: Narrowed it down to 2 honeymoon places! Help! :)

I'd have to say Sandals(but I've never been to Aruba). I just know that the people at Sandals are awesome & I'm sure they really go all out for HMers.
Either way it sounds like you can't loose!

Re: Narrowed it down to 2 honeymoon places! Help! :)

I am in the same boat....I haven't spoken to any travel agents yet to book but I always heard great things about Aruba, but I was leaning a little more towards a Sandals all inclusive resort (Bahamas),
I just thought that they had more to offer Honeymooners, but I can't really say, Any opinions?

Re: Narrowed it down to 2 honeymoon places! Help! :)

Hyatt is Aruba is great but I found Aruba to be a little dull. Never been to St Lucia but I hear Sandals is amazing and St Lucia is a great time - so that gets my vote.

Re: Narrowed it down to 2 honeymoon places! Help! :)

I highly reccommentd Aruba over St. Lucia in general I have heard mixed reviews on St; Lucia but only positive on aruba, and I have been there myself and agree. It depends on what you are looking for. sandals is all inlcusive, the hyatt is not - if you want to venture out of the resort, definitely aruba, if you want to just stay in one place and be pampered, sandals. aruba has several all inclusives as well, but they are not high-end. (im staying at one for my honeymoon in exactly two weeks!)

Re: Narrowed it down to 2 honeymoon places! Help! :)

I think Sandals St. Lucia would be a MUCH better choice for the following reasons:

1) the # of days that you are going...if you were going for a week or less than that than I'd say Aruba for sure

2)Sandals is known for treating their guests like ROYALTY.. from making sure your you have a fresh drink to laying a napkin on your lap, it's wonderful!!

3) there's so much more to do in St. Lucia than there is in Aruba...

4) Sandals is ALL INCLUSIVE.. I don't believe that the Hyatt Aruba is.. you're getting more for your money that's for sure..

Re: Narrowed it down to 2 honeymoon places! Help! :)

Just wanted to add that eating out and doing stuff in Aruba is VERY expensive. Im very rarely shocked by the prices while on vacation since Im used to Manhattan prices - but Aruba is no less than double what you would pay in NYC.

I've never been to St. Lucia, but we just got back from our honeymoon in Aruba and we stayed at the Hyatt and it was awesome. I would definitely recommend it.
